Writer Kim Eun Sook, who has written for popular dramas like “Secret Garden” and “The Heirs,” has participated in donating as well. According to the Association of the National Disaster Relief Aid Agency, on April 28, writer Kim Eun Sook donated 20 million won (approximately US$19,000), saying, “I hope this will help the victims of the Sewol Ferry even just a little bit.” Also, the production company, Hwa & Dam Pictures, who produced “Secret Garden,” “A Gentleman’s Dignity,” and “The Heirs,” donated 30 million won (approximately US$28,000), and the comedian Kim Byung Man donated 20 million won towards the National Disaster Relief Aid Agency. Originally, Hwa & Dam Pictures and Kim Byung Man made the donation on April 21, but since they didn’t want anyone to know about it, it was known later on. Kim Byung Man has donated a large amount to disadvantaged on a regular basis and even gave individual grants to them. He has been known to help those around him who are in need. Also, on April 28, according to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, singer Kim Jong Kook donated 50 million won (approximately US$48,000) towards the victims of the Sewol Ferry incident. On April 25, Kim Jong Kook attended the temporary memorial that has been set up at the Olympic Memorial Gymnasium.
