Kim Jaejoong, Kang Ji Hwan, and Lee Jong Suk Go on Monday-Tuesday Drama Ratings War Starting Next Week

Recommended Posts

With only one more episodes left to air, "Empress Ki" is almost finished and the quest is now on to find who will be the righteous heir to Ha Ji Won's Monday-Tuesday drama throne.

While there are many factors that can contribute to the success of a drama such as a solid and highly captivating story line as well as the actors' skills, it is the viewers who can really make or break the deal.

Starting next week, May 5, MBC will try to keep its reign of the time slot following "Empress Ki" with "Triangle," while SBS will play its cards with "Doctor Stranger." KBS, on the other hand, started  earlier in the game with "Big Man" which started airing this week, the same night as the first of the two final episodes of "Empress Ki."

Returning to the small screen after a year since "Incarnation of Money" is Kang Ji Hwan. In "Big Man," he is Kim Ji Hyuk, a poor guy who suddenly becomes an eldest son of a chaebol group and eventually discovers the ugly truth behind it. Through the stories that will unfold in the series, viewers will see the process of becoming a true leader needed by this generation. Kang Ji Hwan's portrayal of a man who wanders in the slums and turns over a new leaf as the best 'big man' is highly anticipated.

Meanwhile, at an advantage is "Triangle," as it will take over the spot that was left by Ha Ji Won's well-received drama. "Triangle" is a melodrama about three brothers who were separated from their parents and each other and would cross paths once again. Lee Bum Soo plays the role of Jang Dong-chul, the oldest of the three brothers and a detective. Kim Jaejoong plays the role of Jang Dong Chul/Heo Young Dal, the second brother, who grows up having a rough life and ends up becoming a gang leader. The youngest brother who got adopted into a rich family, Jang Dong Woo/Yoon Yang Ha, is played by Im Siwan.

Kim Jaejoong, who is often seen playing handsome characters in his previous projects, will rough it up this time around, much to the anticipation of his fans. His and his co-stars Lee Bum Soo's and Lim Si Wan's transformation for the roles they will play gained a lot of attention right from the release of their drama teaser.

Kim Jae Joong

"Doctor Stranger," on the other hand, is highly anticipated as well as it will star Lee Jong Suk, of last year's SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama "I Hear Your Voice," and Park Hae Jin, of the more recent 'Man from the Stars.' "Doctor Stranger" is about Park Hoon (Lee Jong Suk), who was kidnapped together with his father and was brought to North Korea. He was trained in medicine from when he was young by his doctor father and when he flees to South Korea, he works in the country's top hospital. Meanwhile, Park Hae Jin will play Han Jae Joon, a Harvard graduate doctor who discovers Park Hoon's talent.

LEE JONG SUK

It was said that Lee Jong Suk has the role to a T as he is completely immersed in the role, speaking with a perfect North Korean accent and even acting intensely with his eyes. Viewers are excited to see how he transforms his image from being boyish to a mature one as he portrays a strong, genius doctor.

So, ladies and gentlemen, which actor do you think will be king of the coveted Monday-Tuesday night spot?
