Many celebrities have been sending their support through monetary donations to the family of the victims of the Sewol ferry accident. Yet, rapper Tiger JK's donation was extra special as he donated through his late father's name. It was revealed that on April 25, the rapper had donated 100 million won (~ 96038 USD) through his late father Suh Byung Hoo's name.

A representative commented, "The late Suh Byung Hoo had often lamented that he had not been able to help his neighbors who were need. Through this recent tragedy, Tiger JK experienced great heart break and decided, in respect to the victims, to donate in his father's name."

Suh Byung Hoo was known as Korea's top pop music columnist, and even introduced many different Korean songs through American Billboards. The columnist, who had helped spread K-Pop, passed away on February 1st, at the age of 72, due to cancer.
