Shim Eun Jin, Lee Hwa Sun, Han Ji Woo Draw Yellow Ribbons for Sewol Ferry Tragedy Victims

Actresses Shim Eun Jin, Lee Hwa Sun, and Han Ji Woo offered their prayers for the safe return of the missing persons who were involved in the Sewol Ferry tragedy which took place on April 16.

On April 22, Shim Eun Jin tweeted, “I’ve been seeing pictures of yellow ribbons here and there and talks about its copyright issues, so I just drew one myself. You can take this picture and use it anyway you want. All of our hearts are in the same place anyway.”

She drew a picture of a person shaped liked a yellow ribbon in her picture. She included the words, “We’ll be waiting,” expressing her hope for a safe return.

On April 24, Lee Hwa Sun uploaded a picture she drew on her Facebook account with the message, “As soon as I woke up this morning, I had his strong urge to draw this event. Until now… with sincerity… holding my breath… sometimes with tears… praying for a miracle… and remembering the deceased.. this is what I prayed while drawing this. Already a week after on a sad night..”

Lee Hwa Sun’s picture shows the Sewol Ferry filled with yellow ribbons and expresses her hope of the missing persons’ safe return.

Han Ji Woo posted on her blog on April 23, “I drew a picture that expresses the way all of us feel. I sincerely hope everyone will return safely to the embrace of their families.”

Her picture shows a little girl praying with a yellow ribbon in her hand with the words “Please…”

The yellow ribbon campaign began spreading on April 22 through various online communities and SNS sites as a symbol of hope and unity in wishing for the safe return of missing victims of the Sewol Ferry tragedy.
