The release of an upcoming Hollywood film showing snippets of actor Choi Min Shik is making many Korean fans grow with anticipation.

On April 3, Universal Pictures released the first trailer for its new and upcoming film, “Lucy,” directed by Luc Besson starring Scarlett Johansson, Morgan Freeman, and Choi Min Shik.

“Lucy” takes place in Taipei, Taiwan when a girl named Lucy gains supernatural powers after being forced to transport drugs inserted into her body. Luc Besson, the director behind “Léon,” “The Big Blue,” and “The Fifth Element”, directed the film. Anticipation is growing towards how Choi Min Shik, known by many filmgoers for his role in “Old Boy,” will make his Hollywood debut.

Choi Min Shik plays the character of Kang, a boss of a drug ring. He uses Lucy (Scarlett Johansson) for his drug-trading business and makes endless efforts to track her down.

The trailer shows Choi Min Shik’s strong presence as the villain in the film. A glimpse of the shoot-out between him and Scarlett Johansson is revealed in the trailer.

“Lucy” is scheduled to show in theaters August 2014.
