2NE1's Park Bom Auditioned for Three Years to Enter the YG Family

On April 3, 2NE1's main vocalist Park Bom revealed during the MBC FM4U radio show "Kim Shin Young's Hope Songs at Noon" her lengthy three years spent auditioning to become a singer in the YG Entertainment agency.

The singer said, "For three years, I went to auditions every month. I think I auditioned more than dozens of times. "

When DJ Kim Shin Young asked, "Why do you think you failed to get during those three years?," the singer replied, "I don't know. Probably because I was not good enough. For my first audition, I sang Christina Aguilera's 'I Turn To You'. I forgot the lyrics now."

Park Bom continued, "I didn't go to auditions hosted by other agencies. The fact that CEO Yang Hyun Seok kept failing me made me so mad and I thought that if I did follow through with his advice and kept auditioning to enter the YG Family, I will succeed as a singer. I was right."

2NE1 recently released their second album "CRUSH" and have been in the top place in many music sites for the past five weeks.

On April 11, the girl group will travel to Shanghai to perform at their World Tour and meet their fans.
