Gmail Lists Girls' Generation as a Trending "Shelfie" as Part of April Fools' Day Prank

Recommended Posts

Gmail rolled out its new feature, the Gmail Shelfie, for April Fool's day, and what better way to promote it than with Girls' Generation!

The Shelfie is a portmanteau of the phrase "SHareable sELFIE"  describing the selfie photos you can set as your Gmail background and share it with others. Gmail writes on its blog, "With just a few clicks, your mom, your aunt, or that girl you have a crush on can set your Shelfie as their Gmail theme so they can enjoy checking, reading, and writing emails while seeing your friendly face in the background."

To promote this feature and continue the April Fools' prank, Gmail has been announcing the trending shelfies throughout the day. Among the likes of Katy Perry and Miss Piggy, Girls' Generation's shelfie is also a hot trend around the world. Gmail wrote on its Twitter, "Trending Now: @GirlsGeneration. Taking a #GmailShelfie for S♡NEs worldwide after performing Mr.Mr."
