A huge box office hit, "Miss Granny" has continued its success by taking home the Grand Prix Award at the 6th Okinawa International Movie Festival.

CJ Entertainment, the company responsible for the distribution of the movie revealed on March 26, "'Miss Granny' received the Grand Prix Award of the Peace category at the 6th Okinawa International Movie Festival held on March 24 in Okinawa, Japan."

The annual movie festival has a distinct concept titled "Laugh & Peace," which reflects the event's goal to bring happiness to the people through film-related activities. Held this year from March 20 to 24, three major awards were handed to films that best represent the three main award categories of the festival; Laugh, Peace, and Golden Shisa.

Director Hwang Dong Hyuk received the award and expressed his gratitude, "Even though 'Miss Granny' is a movie with the story of a Korean, I am very surprised and thankful that the Japanese viewers find it relatable and enjoyable. I hope to attend Okinawa International Movie Festival again with a new movie."

Leading actress Shim Eun Kyung commented, "I am thankful even for just being invited to Okinawa International Movie Festival, so it is an honor to receive such a big award. I want to share the joy with the staff that went through a hard time with us."

Congratulations to the producers, actors, and staff of "Miss Granny!"
