"Top Star" Starring Uhm Tae Woong Sells Remake Rights to China

Movie "Top Star," directed by Park Jung Hoon, has sold its remake rights to a Chinese company.

Lotte Entertainment, the distribution and investment representative of the movie, commented on March 28, "The remake rights of Park Jung Hoon director's 'Top Star' were sold to a famous Chinese production company AIM MEDIA at the 38th Hong Kong International Film Festival Film Market."

Just a month ago, the movie titled "Beijing Love Story" produced by AIM MEDIA hit the movie theaters in China. The film has been a great success, attracting over 11 million viewers so far.

A representative of AIM MEDIA and the producer of "Beijing Love Story" revealed, "We decided to make a remake as the movie's quality is high and the story is very interesting, and we think that it has a high possibility of succeeding in China. We have recently been very interested in acquiring the remake rights to Korean movies."

The production of the Chinese version of "Top Star" will soon begin, and Chinese star actors and actresses are currently being considered for the role. The movie can be expected to premiere in 2015.
