Two Months Since Release, Girl's Day Continues to Rank High on Charts with "Something"

Recommended Posts

Thanks to the great success of "Something," Girl's Day has secured its spot as one of Korea's hottest girl groups.

The girls kicked off their year by releasing their third mini album "Something" on January 3, and two months later, it is still in the top 10 of various music charts. For an idol group to maintain its position on top for such a long time is an admirable achievement, and even though the girls wrapped up their promotions at the end of February, their popularity has not faded away.

On March 10 at 7am, "Something" could be seen on the tenth place of Melon's Real Time Chart, and it also ranked eighth on the Weekly Chart. Despite the comebacks of 2NE1 and Girls' Generation, "Something" has performed extremely well without nearly any changes in its position.

A source in the entertainment industry commented, "Girl's Day started the strong trend of sexy concepts among girl groups. Many groups tried to challenge Girl's Day, but as expected, Girl's Day came out on top. With just right amount of sexiness, they made the latecomers feel strongly pressured."

Thanks to the streak of hit songs and concepts with just the right amount of sexy, the girl group has also caught the eye of marketing departments. The girls are currently the faces of ten different products, including fried chicken, accessories, and cameras.

This past weekend, Girl's Day performed "Something" on Music Core's 400th Episode Special, along with Boy's Day.

Can "Something" still be found on your playlist as well?
