Fire at Lee Seung Hwan's Recording Studio Put out Quickly, No Major Damage

Recommended Posts

Veteran singer Lee Seung Hwan was in the recording studio working on his new album on March 2 when a fire broke out in the early morning.

The incident took place at a Dream Factory studio at the Dream Factory building in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, after console equipment caught fire.

Despite the fire, Lee Seung Hwan has completed recording his 11th album, his first release in 4 years. The album is currently in the post-production phase, and is expected to be released at the end of March.

Dream Factory stated, “The fire was due to overheating of the console equipment because of a malfunctioning internal cooler. The staff present at the office at that time responded quickly and managed to suppress the fire, preventing any major damage. The fire has pushed mixing back by approximately a day, but we have replaced some of the equipment we needed and have recommenced work as usual. The album’s release at the end of March will not be affected.”

Lee Seung Hwan revealed his thoughts via his Facebook page on March 2, “The console hasn’t been switched off since 1997; this is the first time the power is switched off. I froze and panicked for a moment. The machine has endured everything for 17 years. Is this a good omen?”

Lee Seung Hwan will be commemorating his 11th album comeback through his “Mr. Lee Seung Hwan’s Special Retrospective +11” concerts on March 28 and 29, at the Woori Financial Art Hall. It was earlier revealed that he has filmed a blockbuster music video in preparation for his comeback.
