We have a new No. 1 this week!

“Some,” a duet between SISTAR’s Soyu and R&B artist Junggigo, jumps from No. 26 all the way to the top spot this week, overtaking our three-week champion Girl’s Day and their “Something.”

Soyu has become a favorite duet partner for male K-Pop artists as this is the third time she’s helping a relatively unknown male artist to get into the spotlight. In 2012, Soyu lent her vocal to Geeks’ “Officially Missing You, Too.” Last year, she had a No. 1 song “Stupid In Love” with Mad Clown. Now,  four months later, she strikes again with this new No.  1 song “Some.”  Geeks’ Lilboi returns the favor to be the featured rapper on this song.

“Some” is a medium tempo R&B duet blending Junggigo’s romantic vocal and Soyu’s clear voice together in a beautiful harmony.  It is a tailor made sweet love song for Valentine’s Day. With “Some” sweeping all the music show wins this week, it looks certain to repeat as No. 1 next week.

The highest debut song this week is at No. 3 with Brown Eyed Girls’ Ga In and her latest mini-album “Truth Or Dare.”  The title track of the same name debuts in the top three this week. It is a funky style R&B dance hit with a groovy bass line. The lyrics suggest that rumors can destroy the career of a celebrity.

The last new song is at No. 5, making it three new songs in the top five this week.  Moving up 19 spots is B.A.P’s latest hit “1004(Angel).”  Fresh off winning the Best Fandom Award on our 2013 Soompi Awards, B.A.P released their long awaited first full length album “First Sensibility.” “1004(Angel)” is an acoustic dance hit with house beats and folk rock elements. It is an emotional song describing the pain and sadness after a breakup. B.A.P members showcase their improved rap and vocals throughout the song.  “1004(Angel)” won on Show Champion, KBS Music Bank and Inkigayo last week, becoming B.A.P’s first music show victories. This song will have a good chance to move into the top three next week.
