"SNL Korea" Kim Seul Gi Is a Strong Candidate for Drama Spin-off, plus Season 5 Changes

Recommended Posts

According to tvN, the production crew of “SNL Korea” is preparing for a spin-off drama. It is likely to come out in June-July.

PD Baek Seung Ryong, who directed the “Phantom of the Opera” parody music video and the outdoor vignettes such as the fanfiction vignette which revived the memories of H.O.T fans, will be at the helm of this project, alongside CP Ahn Sang Hui.

“SNL Korea” crew members are likely to turn out in full force for the drama. Actress Kim Seul Gi’s name is a strong candidate, but tvN says that “we are still in the early stages, nothing has been finalized.”

On the flip side, “SNL Korea Season 5” will premiere on March 1. This season, “SNL Korea” has made an extensive transformation. They will be moving away from their 19+ concept, geared towards the male audience, and will try to represent the views of both males and females. The Weekend Update corner has been taken out, and plans have been laid for a new corner with a talk show format. With these new changes, “SNL Korea” aims to create a slightly more Korean flavor in order to connect better with local audiences. Actress Clara has stepped down from the regular cast of “SNL Korea” due to scheduling conflicts. She is currently working on the tvN drama “Emergency Couple.”
