Singer Jang Yoon Jung Drops Lawsuit Against Anti Blogger

Jang Yoon Jung has decided to withdraw her lawsuit against the blogger who spread false information and made defamatory posts about the singer. The blogger was arrested by Gyeonggi-do police in December.

The Suwon District Public Prosecutors’ Office revealed on January 15 that following Jang Yoon Jang’s withdrawal of defamation and slander charges against Mr. Song, the 51 year old anti-blogger has been released.

The law regarding the promotion of information and communication network use and protection of information states that in the case of defamation and slander, if the victim does not desire punishment of the culprit, there will be no prosecution and no punishment can be sought.

Mr. Song had posted a total of 63 posts on his blog since April last year until recently. His posts contained false accusations about the singer, and he also posted abusive comments about the singer on portal sites nine times. He had accused Jang Yoon Jung about confining and abusing her mother’s acquaintance, which was revealed to be false. She was later acquitted from these charges.

Jang Yoon Jung’s had a tough past year, what with the legal issues with the anti blogger, and the conflict with her mother. She’s chosen to move forward, and will be expecting a baby in June this year.
