With 30 to 60 new groups debuting last and this year (see our 2012 and 2013 debut videos here and here) on top of the already existing groups, the number 200 shouldn't be surprising, but it still is. MBC is counting around 200 idols participating in the 2014 Lunar New Year Special Idol Athletic Championship- track and field, archery, curling, and  fustsal-  that is taking place today, January 13 at the Jamsil Student Gymnasium. The MCs are Kim Sung Joo, Jeon Hyeon Moo, Shindong, and Lee Byung Jin.

The futsal match took place today with players Minho (SHINee), Woohyun and Hoya (Infinite), Luhan and Xiumin (EXO),  Yoon Doo Joon, Lee Ki Kwang, and Yang Yoseob (BEAST), Ricky (Teen Top), Im Seulong (2AM), Soryoung (Tasty), Gong Myung (Surprise), UKwon (Block B), Baro (B1A4), Jimin (BTS), Sam (Lunafly), Bang Yong Guk and Young Jae (B.A.P), Seo Eun Kwang and Lee Min Hyuk (BTOB), Tae Hun and Dong Jun (ZE:A), Ravi (VIXX), 5Zic and Kangnam (M.I.B), Hyo Jun (A-JAX), Suwoong (Boys Republic), Goo Ja Myung, Roh Ji Hoon, Eric Nam, Sean Lee, and K-Hunter.

The 2014 Lunar New Year Special Idol Athletic Championship will air during the lunar new year holiday in Korea- January 30-31 on MBC.
