Uee is the idol who won’t stop. The pretty idol was originally a member of a girl group called Five Girls that was preparing to debut; other members included Yubin of the Wonder Girls, Hyoseong of Secret, and Yang Jiwon of Spica. However, the group fell apart and Uee’s start in entertainment was delayed.

In August 2008, in an episode of MBC variety/dating show “Introduce the Star’s Friend,” in which celebrities introduced and tried to set up their friends, Yubin introduced Uee as a close friend of hers. At that time, Uee was noted for her beauty and resemblance to Sohee.  (Watch the episode here!)

In April 2009, Uee debuted as the newest member of girl group After School and officially began her career as an idol. Uee was again noted for her good looks and her honey thighs. Uee’s role in MBC drama “Queen Seon Duk” and her pretend marriage with Park Jae Jung in MBC variety/reality program “We Got Married” marked her as a rising star. Uee then acted in the popular SBS drama “You’re Beautiful.”

Though her first lead role in MBC drama “Birdie Buddy” was of little note, her second lead role opposite Joo Won in 2012 KBS drama “Ojakgyo Family” made the two stars due to the heartwarming story of the loves and travails of the Ojakgyo Family and the obvious chemistry between the two. People wondered if Uee and Joo Won dated, and later Joo Won said that if he had made a move, then the two would have dated. Uee followed up this drama with a role opposite Cha Tae Hyun in 2012 KBS drama “Jeon Woo Chi.”

In 2013, Uee will be starring opposite Jung Il Woo in MBC drama “Golden Rainbow.”
