Uhm Tae Woong Fills Void Left by Joo Won on “1N2D”

Variety program “1N2D” recently filmed in Cheongsong, Gyeongsang Province on October 25 and 26. This particular episode of “1N2D” is meaningful as it is the first filming session in one year and eight months without the cast’s maknae, Joo Won, assisting his hyungnims.

Resident clown and caretaker of the hyungs, Joo Won’s departure will no doubt result in a shift in mood for the show. However, this change is just the beginning.

According to a representative, Yoo Hae Jin, Uhm Tae Woong, Cha Tae Hyun, Lee Su Geun, Sung Shi Kyung and Kim Jong Min all gave it their best filming this episode to try to fill the void left by Joo Won. Beginning with “Genius gugak player” Song So Hee’s folk song performance, the members unified and undertook the “bokbulbok” (chance) game.

“Uhmforce” Uhm Tae Woong, especially, played an active role. Uhm Tae Woong earned his nickname “Uhmforce” from his overflowing charisma in his drama and movie roles. However, in the initial stages after joining “1N2D”, he didn’t say much and his presence was barely noticeable. But at one point, he began attacking the other members’ weaknesses, managing to deal out a Keyser Soze role reversal, and attracting the eyes of viewers.

Lately, Uhm Tae Woong seems to be at his peak in the variety game. Like the saying that the late wind is terrifying, Uhm Tae Woong managed to stand out in all of the games, and deftly handled whatever conversation was thrown at him by the members, drawing laughs for his unique way of speaking.

After Joo Won stepped down from the show, producer PD Lee Se Hee was asked on prospects for the future, and he stated, “I have high hopes from Uhm Tae Woong. Lately, his variety sense seems to be at a peak.”

A production insider had this to say, “As expected, Uhm Tae Woong,” “Joo Won’s absence could be felt, but Uhm Tae Woong really took the lead in setting the mood. The members got along well, and the special brotherly love belonging only to '1N2D' could be felt.”
