Recommended Posts

The top two songs remain the same this week as Busker Busker’s “First Love” is No. 1 for a second week in a row with another very high score. This song again is nearly unanimous atop of many rankings. Lim Chang Jung’s “About Me” remains at No. 2.

There are five new songs in the top 10 this week.  The highest brand new debut is Block B’s “Very Good” at No. 3.  This song is coming from Block B’s third mini-album of the same name.  They previously released a slower tempo track “Be The Light” as a preview single.  “Very Good” has a bright and lively melody line with fun and cheerful lyrics that is different from the group’s previous more intense tracks.  It was already No. 1 on SBS Inkigayo last week and will definitely challenge for the top spot next week.

Moving up 20 spots to No. 4 is Seo In Young’s new single “Please Love Me” featuring the rap of Dynamic Duo’s Gaeko.  It is Seo In Young’s first top five hit in three years.  She last did it in 2010 with “Write Love And Call It Pain.”  “Please Love Me” is a slow tempo post disco style hit that focus more on Seo In Young’s vocal.

Secret’s Song Ji Eun is back with her second solo top 10 hit as “ False Hope” moves up 11 spots to No. 5.  It is an R&B ballad with lyrics about a woman who feels pain due to her ex-lover giving her false hope after breakup.

At No. 9, Super Star K4’s Jung Joon Young scores his first top 10 hit with his debut song “Spotless Mind.”  This is a preview song from his first mini-album.  It is a rock ballad with vintage guitar sound.  This week it moves up 11 spots to No. 9. Besides releasing his first mini-album, Jung Joon Young is currently paired with actress Jung Yoo Mi as one of the new couples in “We Got Married.”

Debuting at No. 10, and perhaps the favorite to take over the top spot next week, is IU’s “The Red Shoes.” This is the title track from IU’s third full length album “Modern Times.”  “The Red Shoes” was written by the hit making team of Lee Min Soo and Kim Ina, and was inspired by the children’s story of the same name. The lyrics are about a girl who is forced to dance when she wears red shoes. The song has already swept nearly all chart rankings and will be hard to beat next week.
