Newsie
Girl group Kara bowed to fans on the first day of their Japanese tour, apologizing for the recent buzz surrounding member Nicole Jung’s leaving the group. At the first concert of Kara's Japanese tour held at the Yokohama Arena in the Kanagawa prefecture on October 8, Goo Hara apologized to fans, “We are sorry for causing fans to worry. Please continue to show us your support so we can show you a better Kara.” While Nicole also bowed her head along with the rest of the Kara members, she offered no comments regarding her future plans. During the concert, Kara members brought out a cake to celebrate Nicole’s birthday, which was on October 7. Nicole showed her gratitude with a simple “Thank you,” and tears in her eyes. Kang Ji Young, who was also under public scrutiny over whether she would renew her contract, stated, “I’m happy.” She did not comment on what her next move would be. The first day of the concert saw 12,000 fans in attendance at the Yokohama Arena. Kara performed 25 songs in total, including hit songs “Mister” and “Jumping”. Their passionate performance earned them warm applause from the crowd. On October 4, Kara's agency DSP Media stated that “Nicole does not intend to renew her contract, which ends in January 2014.” In addition, they revealed that Kang Ji Young’s contract ends in April 2014, and she is currently considering studying aboard and other options. However, DSP stated that Kara would not break up and would continue their activities as a group, even if a member left. Nicole left a message on Twitter on October 7, stating “I started my activities as a member of Kara and I would like to end them with Kara,” in a long post revealing her feelings regarding this issue.View the full article
