IU Thinks She Lost the "Sexy Battle" Against Ga In

Nation’s little sister IU is finally back, and has recently revealed what personal worries she had to go through while shooting the jacket photos of her new album.

On October 7, she held the showcase and press conference for her third full-length album "Modern Times" in K-Art Hall at Seoul Olympic Park. This marks her comeback after one and a half years of absence from the scene. The album is said to highlight IU’s improved musical ability through a more mature side of her.

The singer has teamed up with Ga In from Brown Eyed Girls for the track "Everybody Has Secrets", and the sultry jacket photos left fans in awe. However, seems like the younger one of the two isn’t as satisfied with the outcome as could be thought.

IU laughed, "We did the recording, took the jacket photos, and shot the teaser together. As Ga In is used to posing sexily, I knew I wouldn’t stand out as much. But as it is my album, I still tried to shine even if I was next to her. However, I feel like I totally lost the battle.”

She continued by saying, "It was disappointing, but I learned a lot from Ga In. Now, I know how to set the atmosphere and speak with my eyes. We formed a friendly bond between us thanks to working together,” and finally concluded with, "Even though we didn't manage to become too close, I really came to admire her.”

After working on it for nine long months, IU has released her 3rd album that mixes genres of swing, jazz, bossa nova, latin pop and more. She has also contributed by composing two and writing four songs, and thus expressed her songwriting talent. Even though the new concept differs strongly from her previous releases, she has still managed to keep her unique charm and take over the music charts.
