Big Bang's Seungri proves his gift of gab once again. The singer is the first international celebrity to clinch a hosting spot on a regular cable show in Japan.

According to a statement from YG Entertainment, "Starting September 27, Seungri will be joining 'Popular Women 100' as a co-host. The program airs on Japan's Fuji TV station." Seungri will be co-hosting alongside comedian-host Hiroshi Yamazaki.

Seungri's hosting stint is noteworthy since international artists advance into the entertainment industry in Japan through music and acting activities, but it is the first time to have a foreign celebrity regularly host a variety show.

On his selection, the producers of "Popular Women 100" said, "Last year, when Fuji TV has started planning for new programs, we saw Seungri appear on variety programs and we saw his attitude and ability to work. From the planning stage, we already had Seungri in mind."

Seungri is known to have good Japanese skills and has delighted audiences in his various variety programs appearances over the past four years.

"Popular Women 100" is about 100 women who talk about their dating styles. They are also to give tips to unpopular men.

Meanwhile, Seungri was in Fukuoka for "Live Island Tour 2013." Apart from "Popular Women 100," fans in Japan can also anticipate more of Seungri as he will also launch the promotions for his solo effort "Let's Talk about Love" on October 9.
