IU and Lee Hyun Woo Spotted on a Late Night Movie Date?

The media has been abuzz with the rumors that IU and Lee Hyun Woo were spotted on a late night movie date. A couple of photos were uploaded to an online community on August 9 KST which showed two people who look like the singer and actor at the movie together, both wearing large caps that cover their faces.

Both IU and Lee Hyun Woo’s agency have responded to the rumors. IU’s agency, Loen Entertainment, stated to various local news agencies, “First of all, the two didn’t watch the movie alone; the managers were there too. IU and Lee Hyun Woo are old friends so it’s surprising that the fact that the two saw a movie together has become an issue.”

Loen Entertainment also stated, “All the two was watch a movie together with their managers since they both had free time after IU finished filming for her drama, ‘You’re the Best, Lee Soon Shin’ on August 8.”

Lee Hyun Woo’s agency, Keyeast Entertainment, also stated to various local news agencies, “It is true that Lee Hyun Woo and IU went to see a movie together, but both had their managers and other staff  members with them. [Lee Hyun Woo] knew the photos were being taking as they were taken so closely, but [he] didn’t stop them,” emphasizing that the actor and IU are close friends. “They are friends of the same age so they occasionally meet up to eat or watch a movie. They met up on August 8 like usual.”

IU and Lee Hyun Woo emceed SBS’ “Inkigayo” until IU’s recent departure from the show. Lee Hyun Woo also acted in IU’s “You and I” music video.
