have watched this drama until the latest episode. those 2 wives better stop fighting.

i believe there is no murder in here. i read an English summary of ep1 in koreandrama.org and it appears impossible that they killed the man. that man might have not been dead actually. maybe someone saved him.

if, later on, we found out that the man was killed. it has to be someone else, but not those girls. 

am not sure about that hairdresser man. we know there really are a lot and good hair dresser and hair stylist that are men. but, the way he reacts to his wife's sexual acts are really bothering me. he would even sleep with his mother just to get away from his wife

@yvonneyoung, I don't believe the girls killed him either. But I think he may turn out dead, because the plot says "murder mystery." So the questions would be - who did kill him and why.

For that matter, do we know who he was, and what was his relationship to the girls?

Funny that these couples end up living across from each other. I am not sure why the two women who used to be good friends are not friendly to each other now.

I think he choose her because she's a people pleaser he knew he couldn't tell his mom he was gay so marry her to cover it for him I don't think they have slept together since they been married or if they did I wouldn't be surprised if he's not using condoms and she don't know it.. But it's really no bedroom action in that house and mom blames her for it..

A to Q  2.  These two was never friends in school it was always the other girl trying to keep the peace because she was friends to them both.. But somehow I see these two teaming up together to teach they husbands a lesson and the peace keeper joining in to teach her son a good lesson if she cheats on her husband she has a right to he's not doing his husbandly duty at home but to me he has gay written all over him and it's his mom fault..

I know a lot of male hairdresser that aren't gay but this man seems not to be turned on by any woman and when the male friend showed up and his wife address him he look at his wife like don't look at him or say anything to him like with a woman would do to another woman..

Actor Kim Dong-hyeon-I sentenced for fraud

Actor Kim Dong-hyeon-I was demanded to 1 year in prison for fraud.

Kim Dong-hyeon-I claimed, "I am not the one who borrowed 100 million from A but it was B. I happened to be there and B wanted me to sign a promissory note so I did".

"I had also lent B 150 million won. He'd said he'd pay be back a part of it with money borrowed from A so that's 50 million. Then B suddenly died from kidney cancer and things got complicated. I did tell A that I would pay him back half of what B owed him for the sake of morality".

About the 10 million won borrowed to pay taxes on loans for a villa, "I did borrow that money, but I didn't use it. The actual person in charge of the villa said I had to pay default taxes to get loans for the villa so I borrowed money from A to give to C".

"A and B are all close friends of mine, but I must say it's a shame that this has happened to us".

Kim Dong-hyeon-I's legal counselor claims, "A has no credibility and it's true he lent money to Kim Dong-hyeon-I but details of the account don't match. It's true Kim Dong-hyeon-I signed a promissory note but this is a civil case. However, A is pushing this as a criminal suit so Kim is claiming he will return the money and tell the truth".

The investigators claim, "Kim is denying all charges but looking at the evidence, there is liability in prosecuting him. The money involved is not a small amount so he is guilty".

Meanwhile, Kim Dong-hyeon-I was sued last year for not paying back the 100 million or so won that he borrowed from A. He borrowed 120 million won in 2009 claiming he would pay him back when he could and additionally borrowed 10 million won to 'pay him back'.

Kim Dong-hyeon-I is currently starring in the MBC drama "The Great Wives".

I've only just finished this week's eps.
So let me fill the rest of you in on the background details that you need to know to understand the relationship dynamics.

Wife #1: Jo Kyung Soon

It's clear enough that the 3 women are former high schoolmates.
The reason why Jo Kyung Soon fought with Yoo Ji Yeon back in high school is because the latter refuses to address her as 'eonni'.
JKS is actually 3 years older than the other 2 girls because she took 3 years out after graduating from junior high to help make ends meet.
Her father had died early and her mother ran a makgeolli place. Life was tough for them and they were poor.

Yoo Ji Yeon comes from a well off family and her father ran a furniture business.
(in her case, her mother died young and her father brought her up singlehandedly)
She's quite stuck on being cultured and well bred, so you can imagine what she thinks of the relatively uncouth JKS.
She can't be more bothered with JKS and refuses to call her 'eonni'.
In the case of JKS, she keeps saying that YJY is rude and insisting that she apologise to her.

Anyway, when the story started in E001, it was actually the last day for YJY at school.
She was going to move to Seoul with her father the next day.
Their high school is actually in Gangwon Province.

Anyway, YJY ended up in hospital after their fight and she and her dad were thinking of suing JKS.
That's how JKS' mom, Hong Geum Sook, first met YJY's dad, Yoo Dae Kam, at the hospital,
and all the mom could think of is how handsome the guy is. LOL
In any case, because she ended up breaking her elbow trying to persuade YDK not to sue her daughter, Daddy Yoo lets JKS off.
Incidentally, the high school was going to expel JKS, but she decided that shell quit school before they can do that.
That's why we have the scene where she tore off the top of her uniform and marched out.

JKS thought that she had better apologise to YJY as she heard that she had broken YJY's nose. She didn't want to get sued.
So the 3rd girl, Oh Jung Mi, who's always trying to have the 2 get along was told to get YJY out to meet JKS under the bridge.
JKS saw that YJY looked perfectly fine and instead of apologising to her, insisted that YJY apologise to her instead.
Then we get the 'murder' scene.

The big news is -- that man did not die.
In fact, we see him in this week's eps (especially E010, the Friday ep) -- he's the man who bought over the fried chicken shop in the estate, Na Gwang Soo.
He's the father of the young man, Na Min Kyu, that JKS' daughter, Han Gong Joo, keeps crossing path with and now has a crush on.
Na Min Kyu's the young man who piggybacked JKS back home when she passed out drunk before Gong Ju was able to get her home from the jimjibang.

All in all, JKS and YJY consider the other to be her 'sworn enemy'.

Okay, back to 2015 JKS.
When she married her husband, Han Ki Chul, they didn't even have a wedding ceremony.
He wasn't rich at all. After having served her in-laws for over 10 years, they passed away and left HKC their land.
Turned out, the land was slated for redevelopment and was worth a lot of money.
How much? KRW 5 billion, around US$ 4.45 M. So they're now nouveau riche.
HKC runs a real estate company (they own tons of commercial property that they rent out) and the golf driving range.
This is also why, once a month, when HKC passes out pocket money to the family members,
he makes them perform the big formal bow to the photos of his parents and grandparents on the wall as a form of gratitude.

As for the reason why HKS is cheating on JKS -- he desperately wants a son.
JKS was only able to produce a daughter.
In fact, her mom never fails to remind her of this sad fact that JKS would rather not be reminded of
whenever she fights with HKS and the mom scolds/nags her for it.

That pro golf coach that HKS is flirting around with, Bang Se Ri, she doesn't seem to fully realise what HKC is after,
even though in the scene where they were in the KTV (he was in middle eastern headgear and fake moustache),
he told her he wanted a child with her, and he would do anything she said as long as she produced a child for him.
So far, that Bang woman seems to be in it for the free food, drinks, and branded stuff she can get off him.

Anyway, this is not the first time HKC is having an affair.
JKS took out this stack of paper from the cabinet in the living room when she found out about the Bang woman.
That stack of paper happens to be all the promissory notes he wrote her every time he was caught that that was his 'last' affair.
Well, his last affair prior to that Bang woman was only a few months ago.
BTW, that wine bottle opener that she grabbed from the kitchen that scared HKC stiff, it's not to kill or harm him,
that's to 'extract' blood from him as he offered to sign yet another promissory note.
She wants his fingerprint stamped in blood.

The thing is this, HKC doesn't want a divorce (JKS had threatened to divorce him like 20 times, according to her daughter's count).
A fortune-teller had once forecasted that JKS's destiny is such that she'll become filthy rich.
Or in the words of the fortune-teller, as recounted by her mom, JKS has a dragon going up round her neck. LOL
Anyway, it did come true so she's kind of like HKC's lucky charm.
In any case, the man has aspirations of running for mayor or the Korean National Assembly in the future,
so a divorce is out of the question, not forgetting the fact that JKS would want half of his assets.

Incidentally, the family's nickname for JKS is -- strongest woman in the world -- something along the lines of a female Hercules or Atlas.
Well, we do see how strong she is at the jimjibang when she had downed 12 cans of bear in heartbroken sorrow.
The whole group of people who tried to stop her drunken song and dance routine all ended up on the floor.
Not only does HKC have her listed down in his cellphone as 'Hercules', the ringtone associated with an incoming call from her
happens to be a song with that nickname as the lyrics.

I'll get round to posting on the other 2 wives and their husbands + family tomorrow.

Continuing from yesterday,

Wife #2: Yoo Ji Yeon (Husband: Professor Yoon Il Hyun)

As mentioned before in my previous post on 'Hercules' JKS, Yoo Ji Yeon is from a relatively well off family.
The apartment that she and her husband + daughter are living in now, it was bought for them by her father (Yoo Dae Kam).
Not just that, Daddy Yoo is like Santa Claus, the car her husband, Prof Yoon drives is also from Daddy Yoo.
He also bought a piano for his granddaughter, Ha na.

By now, you should be able to guess that YJY's husband, Prof Yoon, isn't from a monied background.
In fact, he has climbed to his current position as a university professor thanks to all the support from his wife's family.
We see in the early eps that he's like a celebrity academic, appearing on the cover of magazines
and there's mention of him having appeared on TV. YJY is the architect behind all these. 
She effectively plays the role of the perfect wife who goes all out to support her husband's career,
meeting reporters and PDs to ask them for favors so as to get her husband more media exposure.
As her high school friend, Wife #3, Oh Jung Mi, had commented, given how proud YJY is,
it must have taken a lot for YJY to have to ask others for favors.

All in all, YJY seems to lead a perfect life except for the fact that her dear husband is having an affair with
the Teaching Assistant from his university, Jo Soo Jung.
What's even worse is that the 3rd party is tutoring his daughter, and Ha Na likes the vixen a lot.

In the case of Prof Yoon, he and the TA Jo Soo Jung seem to be genuinely in love, or rather, besotted,  with each other.
As to why, he's treating the wife like this, it might be a case of inferiority complex, and/or he finds it stifling how the wife is practically running his life.
YJY seems to have a perfectionist streak.

In any case, the prof realised the wife had found out about him getting the officetel unit for JSJ,
so he was going to break up with her, but by the end of E010, we see that it didn't happen and he spent
the night with her, texting back to his wife a lie that he's helping out for the night at a colleague's father's wake.

Now here's the bomb that's ticking away (we'll probably find out soon).
The TA Jo Soo Jung, happens to be Hercules JSK's younger sister.
The situation is still kind of murky as to whether they're really related by blood.
JSK is not very fond of her, and her mom, Hong Geum Sook doesn't help matters
by giving varying accounts of how JSJ came about -- picked her up from somewhere, she had given birth to her etc.
So right now, it's not yet known who her real father is.
HOWEVER, if the SW and PD want to throw in some makjang, they could make her Yoo Dae Kam's daughter
from a one night fling between Hong Geum Sook and him.
Remember back in E001, YDK had visited HGS to see how she was doing after breaking her elbow at the hospital?
They were getting a bit cozy in that scene.

Anyway, some info on Daddy Yoo.
His business was in trouble and one of his business associates had absconded with the company funds to the Philippines.
So he's unable to repay all those loans he took out. He kept all this from his daughter and s-i-l.
In any case, by the time she received the call from the police, he's effectively bankrupt with loansharks after him.
So the poor woman has to deal with her husband's infidelity and her dad's bankruptcy all at the same time.
She won't tell her husband know why the father-in-law has moved in with them, and when he tried to find out more,
she snapped at him and reminded him that their apartment was bought by her dad, so he's entitled to live there, which irked the prof.

Oh yes, one more piece of info -- Hercules' daughter, Gong Joo, is a student at the Prof's university.
By the sound of it, she's one of his students.

Wife #3: Oh Jung Mi (Husband: Lee Sung Ho)

Oh Jung Mi is the girl who's always playing peacemaker.
I'm sure all of you know by now that she's older than her effeminate husband.
They own Magic Hair Salon in the estate that her former high school friends live in.

Although the couple has been to the specialist and there's supposed to be no problems,
OJM hasn't been able to conceive and her MIL, Kim Bong Soon keeps harping on it either directly or indirectly.
Her husband LSH appears to have developed a phobia for procreative sex and tries to avoid her advances.

Meanwhile, she hates it that LSH keeps in constant contact with a guy called Charles Jung.
This man is supposed to have been LSH's senior in the army who helped him a lot back then.
On top of that, he's also in the same industry as them.
So when LSH went off to Daegu, it was to attend a hairstyling seminar together with the guy.
It's still not clear if he's in any sort of 'relationship' with Charles Jung.
LSH is definitely a mama boy.

His mother, likes to brag about having lived in Europe before.
Actually, she was only in Germany for a year and as a nurse's assistant.
Her older brother had gone there ahead of her, but he died after only 2 years there.
Anyway, when she dragged YJY's dad to the fried chicken store, when chatting,
they found out that they were from the same hometown and Daddy Yoo happened to be her older brother's schoolmate.
So they decided to be brother and sister (i.e. Daddy Yoo taking the place of her late brother).

It was because they were chatting about the fact that YJY and OJM were high schoolmates that the owner of the store heard YJY's name.
He remembered that the girl who bashed him half to death more than 20 years ago in Gangwon-do had that name.
So after hearing that the girls' high school was in that province, and they had attended it 20 years ago, he's somewhat sure he has found her.

About the bank book scene in E010.
OJM was going to return the money that YJY had loaned them when they opened their salon, but mama boy had lent it to his darling Charles,
so he's in state of major panic and was calling Charles to have him return the money early.
Anyway, we find out that in the past, when OJM's younger sister, Oh Eun Young was going to attend law school,
they couldn't afford the fees and it was YJY who had helped them out.
(BTW, the younger sister has yet to appear, but she's in the cast list along with her husband/boyfriend)
OJM told YJY why she liked her -- because YJY always took care of her.

@ggry, Thank you so much I wasn't off about what was really going on in his dramas even though I'm really watching just because our good uncle Lee Jong Won as Han Ki Chul -- he and wife hercules have me cracking up and all he has to is give MIL and daughter money no matter ho wrong he is they help him.. 

 

Also if husband LSH is procreative sex just when do they have it or he don't plan to have it at all poor girl so will we get a reversed moment where she will be having and affair.. LOL SMH

I've redone the relationship chart in English.
The relationships should be clearer now.

Bang Se Ri is the pro golf coach at Han Gi Cheol's Comet Golf Driving Range that he's trying to bed.
Lee Eun Ju is the Magic Hair Salon couple's employee.
Charles Jeong is Lee Seong Ho's gay friend.
As for Do Hyeong Min, there's no clear indication whether he's the boyfriend or husband of Oh Jeong Mi's sister, Oh Eun Yeong.
These 2 have yet to appear. We'll probably find out their exact relationship when they do.

There's one thing I forgot to mention about that mama boy Lee Seong Ho's good friend Charles Jeong.
When Lee Eun Ju, their employee at their hair and beauty salon heard that he's going to a seminar with that guy,
she screwed up her face and told her female boss, Oh Jeong Mi that the Charles guy ain't that great.
She had heard that he pinches others' bottoms. Initially, Oh Jeong Mi didn't think it was that bad,
until Lee Eun Ju told her that the bottoms that Charles pinched belonged to MEN.
So I think we can assume Charles is probably gay.

Hercules and Han Ki Chul are by far the funniest couple.
Especially E003 when he got drunk and into bed with her, thinking she's Bang Se Ri.
I nearly died laughing at Hercules' over the top breakfast the morning after, Special AAA grade Kalbi ribs. LOL
I don't think the man even realised what he had done the night before.
Actually, it's kind of sad though, because she had actually said that it was her 'once a year lucky break'.
That kind of indicates how starved of attention this wife is that she's completely over the moon just because she FINALLY got laid.
She's actually not a terribly demanding, high maintenance wife at all.
When he sweet talked her the morning after she had left home, he had her practically eating out of his hand.

Actually, when Gong Ju went home and told her mom the 'big news', just before she went off to her room,
she had added that from the back, with the long hair, the woman looked kind of like her aunt.
In any case, GJ didn't get a good look back then, so she wasn't sure.
Needless to say, they didn't think it was possible.

In addition, in the scene where she was in the lift with YJY and her daughter Ha Na,
the little girl, when she found out that GJ is a student of her dad's, had asked if GJ knows
her tutor (the mistress) who's also a student of her dad, even mentioning the name.
But, GJ didn't put everything together (tutor =  mistress = aunt) together.
