Did JYP ever release a statement about his relationship to Yoo Byung Eun?

I am very confused. As a newcomer to K-pop I've read that one of the top 3 companies is owned by a guy who married into the family of Yoo Byung Eun - who was responsible for the deaths of over 300 Korean students.  In the USA, where I am, this would be  the death of a person's career. 

Was JYP friends with Yoo? Did he get financial support from Yoo?  Did he hang out with Yoo?  As an ethical person I'd like to know this before I buy any of the guys products.
