The singer announced the news on Twitter after desperate fans called for a musical return.

The 'That's the Way Love Goes' singer said:"This year, new music, new world tour, a new movement. I've been listening. Let's keep the conversation going."

The superstar must have been paying attention when one fan posted a humorous 'missing persons' poster last month, begging for her return to the charts.

The singer's 11th studio album will act as a follow up to 2008's Discipline. Jackson was last active in 2011 with her Number Ones, Up Close and Personal world tour.
