*** "Twelve" is aiming to broadcast sometime next year, the platform and/or channel has not yet been confirmed. I hope we could get to know it soon. I do hope this material gives him enough screen appearance as he is a part of the lead ensemble. I've always been keeping tabs on Ji Chang Wook' pieces. I was a little miffed when I realized he has only a cameo appearance in Queen Woo. :hwaiting:

*** On September 12, Disney+ dropped a lineup video teasing their upcoming shows that will be released in the latter half of 2024 and in 2025. Disney+ has an exciting lineup of programs. Ji Chang Wook's Gangnam B-Side is one of them. It is a crime series in which an elite detective who has been demoted, a prosecutor, and a mysterious broker team up to pursue dark forces against the backdrop of Gangnam at night. The drama marks the reunion of Ji Chang Wook and Jo Woo Jin, who previously starred in the thriller “Hard Hit” together. Honestly, I`ll be watching this drama, Knock Off and Light Shop.

*** Sigh..........  that "Revolver" had such a lukewarm performance at the box office. It only managed 249,363 admissions.  Ji Chang-wook is the villain Andy here. Although as villains go, Andy is about as unimpressive as Soo-yeong (played by Jeon Do-yeon) is as a hero. He's a gangster who just isn't very good at his job, whose position is mainly do the family connections. His performance is at least interesting, sort of, he's more of a pathetic character than a gross one. When Soo-yeong finally catches up to him the main reason he doesn't give her the money is because he doesn't have cash on hand in the form of liquid assets. But the characters in the movie aren't really unlikeable.

*** It’s been almost three years since Disney entered the K-drama scene and they’ve certainly been courting a mass of star-studded talents to continue gracing our screens in the seasons to come. I've been looking forward (3) dramas from them and one of them is "Gangnam B-Side", which will be released this year. This crime series will be premiering first at the Busan International Film Festival in October before its wider release later this year. Ji Chang-Wook really seems to be leaning into the gangster genre for some reason. Disney+ continues to shine with their dramas.

5 K-Dramas To Watch If You Love The Childhood Connection To Lovers Trope

The childhood connection is a favorite K-drama trope which has undergone its own evolution over time. They have either been bosom buddies as kids, who naturally transitioned to being lovers, and there are also those who were sworn rivals in the classroom, going their separate ways, hoping to never cross paths again. As adulthood throws its own curve balls, dodging and navigating the arduous world of grown-ups, they realize they are better together.

The recent crop of K-dramas have brought out stories of self-introspection and healing, as fate makes them find their way back to each other and for some brings alive long-forgotten connections. Here are five such K-dramas which bring life lessons along with a touch of romance.

“Welcome to Samdalri”

welcome-to-samdalri-4.jpeg

Jo Sam Dal (Shin Hye Sun) is back home in Samdalri, a town in Jeju. She has been involved in a scandal in Seoul after having been accused of bullying an assistant. Her career as a hotshot fashion photographer having fallen apart, Sam Dal is trying to put up a brave front. However, being back home also means to finally face her one-time best friend and former boyfriend, Jo Yong Pil (Ji Chang Wook), whose heart she had once broken. Yong Pil is a weather forecaster and the town’s most loved person. As these two come face to face after a decade of avoiding the other, past hurts, heartbreaks, guilt, and grudges come to the surface. Sam Dal’s reasons for breaking up with Yong Pil go beyond just pursuing her career and becoming a success story in Seoul. And Yong Pil, who has never moved away from the sleepy seaside town, has always nurtured and supported Sam Dal even when they had been apart.

“Welcome to Samdalri” is a heartwarming tale of friendship and love. It highlights the many aspects of relationships from that of family to friends as well as between lovers, each with its own complexes and challenges. From Ji Chang Wook’s impeccable knack for comedy and romance, and Shin Hye Sun’s natural acting, to the awesome ensemble cast, “Welcome to Samdalri” is a must watch.

Watch: Ji Chang Wook, Jo Woo Jin, And Ha Yun Kyung Search For BIBI In Crime Drama

Watch: Ji Chang Wook, Jo Woo Jin, And Ha Yun Kyung Search For BIBI In Crime Drama "Gangnam B-Side" Teaser

Disney+’s upcoming original series “Gangnam B-Side” has announced its premiere date and unveiled a gripping teaser!

“Gangnam B-Side” is a crime drama that follows a detective, a prosecutor, and a mysterious broker as they each pursue different leads in a case that lurks beneath the surface of Gangnam. Their mission is to find the missing ace of a club, Jae Hee.

Directed and written by Park Nu Ri, who also directed the hit film “Money,” the series features a fresh cast, including Jo Woo Jin, Ji Chang Wook, Ha Yun Kyung, and BIBI.

The film promises to deliver an engaging experience with its strong direction and performances.

The newly released trailer showcases a striking contrast between day and night in Gangnam, instantly grabbing viewers’ attention. It features the intriguing phrase, “The world they play in beneath the world we live in,” as it shifts from a quiet, monochromatic cityscape to a vibrant burst of visuals and sound. This dramatic change creates a fresh shock, making it hard to believe both worlds coexist under the same sky and increasing curiosity about the story the project will tell.

The trailer features a voice stating, “Gangnam is in chaos because of you. Everyone is just looking for Jae Hee (BIBI),” as Jae Hee looks frightened and wanders through the dark streets. It also introduces the furious detective Kang Dong Woo (Jo Woo Jin), the enigmatic broker Yoon Gil Ho (Ji Chang Wook), and the stoic prosecutor Min Seo Jin (Ha Yun Kyung). Each character carries their own secrets, suggesting an unpredictable storyline and increasing anticipation for the project.

Check out the full teaser below!

Jo Woo Jin, known for his roles in “Inside Men” and “Kingmaker: The Fox of the Election,” stars as detective Kang Dong Woo, who returns to solve the case. He perfectly captures the complexities of his character, adding realism to the story.

Ji Chang Wook, recognized for his performances in “The K2,” “Backstreet Rookie,” and “Lovestruck in the City,” plays Yoon Gil Ho, a lawless figure in Gangnam who places himself on the suspect list. Ji Chang Wook has undergone a complete transformation to portray his character, creating an unprecedented and striking change that captivates viewers with his distinctive presence.

Ha Yun Kyung, who impressed audiences with her roles in “Hospital Playlist” and “Extraordinary Attorney Woo,” portrays Min Seo Jin, a prosecutor pursuing a case as a chance for advancement, delivering a flawless performance alongside Ji Chang Wook.

Lastly, BIBI, who has established herself as an actor with a strong filmography that includes “Hopeless” and “The Worst of Evil,” plays Jae Hee, the top ace at the Gangnam club and the trigger for the incident. She is expected to enhance the film’s sense of immersion.

“Gangnam B-Side” is set to premiere on November 6 via Disney+.
