I rewatched 7 and saw no problem with the gloves. Can any of you enlighten me what scenes they were talking about? thanks well there sometimes the doctors treating/checking the patient especially at the construction site without glove. but this is not a medical drama, the main genre are romance and melodrama so its fine with me if its not 100% accurate. for once, i really hope people read the plot and genre before watching this drama Plot: This story tells of doctors stationed in the fictional war zone of Urk (Uruk), and follows the love story that develops between a surgeon (Kang Mo-yeon) and a special forces officer (Yoo Shi-jin), both elite in their respective fields. The story will track both their personal and professional struggles while exploring issues about the value of life. -dramawiki not an action drama or a medical drama but it's a romance drama between soldier and doctor. but well everyone has their own preference. some love romance while some think its cheesy. but so far i feel their love story is mature and lovely. kind of love i want to be if i'm a doctor and meet a soldier in a foreign country while volunteering

jjeennyy19
Ahhhh!!! Its so frustrating how I was here posting everyday before the drama starts and now that it started, my time is so unkind. Would want to camp here but I only manage to glance once in a while.. I'm falling hard for Song Song couple..How can they break our heart and flutter it at the same time????I'm a fan of SHK ever since AIMH so I love her to bits but my my!Song Jong Ki!!What are you doin to me???You are slowly becoming my bias too.. I kinda understand Dr. Kang's character. How reluctant she is. I'm a nurse and working in a medical field we see people die just like that. We value life and tried to preserve it. So Dr. Kang seeing how YSJ is always at risk of dying made her think thoroughly plus you can add to that that we are girls. Come on! Admit it, we are often meticulous in what we do. I think KES wrote Kang Mo Yeon's emotions perfectly. If Dr. Kang's life is waking every morning admiring biceps and abs, mine is Captain YSJ!!!Not his smile nor his quirky self but the whole Captain YSJ!! And boy am I wrong!!!! I was reluctant with KES (Cant blame me..Yes Heirs, I'm looking at you!) But she manage to tag our heartstrings with this drama...Thank you for an awesome story and cast.. I hope DOTS hit 30%++ rating..It looks like it will but no matter what happen, the cast and crew did a wonderful job so I'm satisfied. ratings are just a bonus.

tiendoank
The fact that Junsu participated in Joong Ki's drama project totally brought my memory to Sungkyunkwan Scandal. Junsu's Too Love was (and is) my all time favorite ost. Now if Yoochun popped up for a while (however unlikely), I would be one happiest camper.

Well, she had many reasons to dump him and reject him: - First, she was kind of prejudiced about soldiers (soldier= killers; doctors= life savior). But the episode 7 made her realise that she was wrong again about it. She tried to force YSJ to take the responsability for Mgr Go's death, but he refused. - Secondly, she felt, he wasn't including her in his life. When she asked for an explanation after being stood up, his answer was that he couldn't tell her. So because of his job, she felt even more excluded. However, she found a way to discover more about YSJ's life, when she questioned Daniel. Then she discovered a lot more about the soldiers' life by spending some time with YSJ and the other soldiers. The earthquake, the surgery were the incidents that made her realise the different sides of a soldier's life. - Third, the thought he could die at any moment because he was leading a dangerous life was the other reason, but she came to realise that she could die at any moment herself as well (car accident) - Fourth, I suspect, she must have lost her father as well. When she was about to die, she called her mother and explained her everything. If her father had been alive or around, she would have mentioned it. But she didn't, so to me, her real reason is that she must have suffered from her father's loss and she witnessed how her mother suffered from it as well. So her biggest fear is to share the same fate like her mother. Yet, even without being his girlfriend, she suffered a lot, when he was caught in that collapsed building. As conclusion, deep down she must have realised that being with someone or not doesn't change the fact that you're worried about him and the feelings aren't existent. This is an illusion: she cried and was hurting a lot. @Ahpheng As you can see, I wrote another analysis about KMY.

Popular Post JYinz
Hi guys, the episodes for this week has been a blast but I must say Episode 7 was the best one to date. Well for me at least hehe. I'm in love with Descendants of The Sun as the storytelling has been in synch with the title name of the drama so far. I believe a fellow Soompier has touched upon this matter in relating to Apollo. (I'm sorry but I can't seem to recall on which page it was, lol this thread moves too fast) Ah it's on page 444 posted by bebebisous33 Definitely in agreement with that theory as I see the doctors and soldiers as (The Sun), and in the midst of a disaster, they descend and shines the light upon the victims and the unfortunate. My own understanding of this show from the beginning that it was centered around the lives of doctors and soldiers, not just some one-dimensional love story. Thus, I can't help but raise my brow when I chanced upon negative comments on DoTS, complaints which criticizes the lack of a plot, just a romance between a doctor and a soldier etc. Well I'm not gonna comment on the latter as the romance element has been pretty much highlighted in early episodes. Although maybe it's just me, but I've never watch a love story between a doctor and a soldier so it's a breath of fresh air in contrast to the usual Chaebol-Candy stories. However, what do you mean by "there's no plot"? Episode 7 showed us that life is not just about romance/falling in love, every individual is his/her own person. They have their own personal convictions, their own different values in life, their own responsibility to themselves and others, their own choices and the consequences to be faced through the choices/actions made. During disasters or times of crisis, a person's true self is revealed and the ugly side surfaces. Richard, the manager is one prime example. Many have complained of the inclusion of his scenes, should just kill him off or cut down his scenes. I dislike him immensely as well, but I like that each character was integral to this episode. Richard serves as one side of a coin, a selfish and despicable human being. In comparison, the efforts achieved by the soldiers and doctors shows the other side of a coin, highlighting the stark contrast between two sides, showcasing their greatness, sense of empathy and love of humanity. There was one particular scene that caught my attention, when Shi-jin was saving the idiot from the rubbles falling down. I noticed the two soldiers below instantly used their own bodies to protect Manager Go from the falling stones. Like Captain, like soldier. I really like the inclusion of this scene as it reaffirms what Shi-jin said to the idiot before the incident. A soldier protects everyone, including the good and bad, regardless of anything. That is his principle, his fellow soldiers' principle and that is the main core of being a soldier. This is his badge of honour and defines who he is. Another minor character, Kim Ki Bum (oh earnest puppy ), he was injured and got told off for his bumbling efforts, he must have felt so discouraged and useless. But despite all that, he tried his best to contribute and I love the moment when he was happy knowing he helped save the patient by donating blood. The scene where Myung Joo and Kibum saluted to each other, I was so touched. And of course Manager Go, his sacrifice was not in vain and will not be forgotten. *Salute* This brings to my point, my appreciation for the writing of DoTS to date. Yes, I understand the reservation for writer Kim Eun-sook (Heirs, Gentlemen's Dignity) before DoTS began, she does have a few questionable dramas on her resume, especially due to her tendency to create uhm not-too-likable heroes and weak female characters. Well, rest assure as she has upped the game this time. So far she's handling the romance element for DoTS with a deft touch. In addition, I believe the teaming up with writer Kim Won Seok (Queen's Classroom) is the main reason why the story has been thought-provoking and fused with humanistic elements. For those whom are surprised by the improvement on KES's part, let's also give credit to KWS as well for his efforts in creating this lovely story. These two definitely worked well together, in addition with great directing by Lee Eung Bok and the production team. *Salute* Ah Shi-jin and Moyeon Can't leave them out lol. Episode 7 & 8 was a pivotal episode for the development of their relationship, a turning point I would say. When two individuals share an experience together and get to know each other better, only then will they slowly let their guard down, and let go of all the doubts or what-ifs. Shi-jin and Moyeon has shown a genuine sense of intimacy and understanding after the disaster. I love all the small yet precious moments between them this week as this shows that they are slowly reaching a mutual understanding and deeper appreciation for each other. Both are in synch in mind and heart. Isn't that the beginning of LOVE? Not just love at first sight anymore. I like the pacing of their love story as the progression is in a natural manner. OMG so sorry that was long. I just had to let that all out. My apologies if there's any mistake or confusion, English is not my first language. Thank you for reading and wishing everyone a good weekend~!!
