So I watched the episode already and really enjoyed it. I thought it was really good not to focus so on SJ and MY's relation. I mean it was the focus, but indirectly. It was nice to see how SJ was looking at MY working, and how MY worked hard and how strong she was. I was waiting for that for a long time, this kind of development and it was done very well with the consequences of the earthquake. SJ did his job well, MY also. You can really see she is as stong as he is. I liked how she pointed out that she had see more dead people than soldiers do: I think it kinda showed SJ that there was a rationale behind her resistance to him... Death is a part of her life, it is only natural that she does not want it to be a part of her love life...

But I also think she understood him, seeing how strong he was and how professional. I think she came to respect him even more. The decision scene was brutal but he needed to be, and I think she got that at the end... It was only a call she could make... pretty much like their relation. My only complaint is not knowing perfectly what she feels and sees, but I guess that will come in tomorrow's episode.

So yeah, now the love story is really starting and it is looking really promising! I cannot wait for tomorrow's episode (thank god there is one tomorrow!) but especially for next week's episode, I think it is only going to get better!!

Just finished ep 07 with subs and I wanted to leave a quick note before I sign off for the night:

That little speech Shi-jin offered to his tired troopers, not only it was a great exercise in leadership, congratulating them on a work well done, essentially reassuring the soldiers that their families had been informed about the well-being of each one of them, but he told them that as soon as they repaired the communications network they would all be allowed to videocall their relatives. But the bit I think spoke volumes about the kind of commanding officer he is was the advice he gave them to get a good night sleep and to not think too much about what had happened that day.

I can't help but to think that he's probably applying this same advice to himself on a daily basis and, just as he does with his tendency to joke in dramatic moments, it's probably the best coping mechanism for him. Considering what he's been through (of what we know, which, let's face it, probably doesn't even begin to cover it), the guy is actually pretty healthy. 

Another piece of advice that I felt was exactly what she needed to hear was when he's told Mo-yeon he wasn't expecting her to work a miracle since doctors can't even seem to find a cure to the common cold. I think that he said this to lift off the immense pressure he knew she was feeling, while at the same time, he stopped from putting himself in a position that did not belong to him. He is not the doctor, it would have been wrong of him to make the call. He knew this, and he made sure she knew too. Not to mention that this showed once again how much he respects and values her profession. 

And I think that, after this episode, she's starting to respect and value his profession too.

Overall, a great episode, I can also breathe easy seeing that the start of Goodbye Mr Black did not do much damage in terms of ratings.

And once again, God Bless Korea for having the two-episodes-a-week system. Again, I don't think that with a drama like DotS one could just live with one episode a week. There would be riots! Anyway, good day/night to you all, tomorrow is DotSday#2!

Okay and the moment where my heart really fulttered is when he is about to go in the collapse builsing, she tries to find him, looks at him and he looks back, then doing that like sign of acknowledgment! That was the BEST! SJK is really intense at the right time!

Im sooo happy!!!!! Yes, it dipped down buut so glad that its not a uge percentage... minute in fact! And i felt so relieved.... Yesterday when friends are talking about naver trends i got afraid and felt really worried... Aww im so happy for DOTS team!!! fighting!!! And fighting for all of us in here!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

 

cross fingers for today's episode and i bet they will give us a true cliff hanger!!! and torment us for another week.... but really i can have a good sleep tonight!!! my heart is soooo happy!!!.... and i can't wait for the subs!!!!!

Congrats to DOTS for surviving the premiere of another show with a strong cast. 

As long as it holds its current ground of above 23% ratings that is wonderful tbh. Most of the biggest dramas saw small dips in ratings at random times but when ratings get this huge and the show blows up viewers won't leave unless something really makjang happens

Song Hye Kyo talked about how she feels working with a younger actor for the first time in “Descendants of the Sun.”

During the press conference for “Descendants of the Sun” on March 16, Song Hye Kyo said, “A lot of actors my age work with younger actors. Their age difference is usually around five years, but my age difference [with Song Joong Ki] is not that big. Joong Ki treats me like an elderly on set, but after talking with him I realized he knew a lot of things I knew when I was young.”

She added, “Joong Ki’s body age seems to be a lot older than mine because he got sick often. I want to try acting with someone younger,” and laughed

Just finished watching the subbed Episode 7 (by the way, this drama got the fastest subbers so far, daebak!)

The manager's death was heartbreaking indeed..I cried too..

I hope Sgt. Go (the 3rd in-command) can get over his animosity with KMY..He had clashed with her for I think 3 times already..But of course, I do understand from where he is coming..I can't wait to see his reactions the moment he learns that the doctor he honestly declared that he don't really like is his Captain's true love. Hahaha...

Hello guys, first time to post here.

I think no worries about a very slight slipping down of ratings. Because right now we already know that DotS won't be shaken nor be pulled town on it's throne. Not even 1 percent is sliced down.

One more thing is oh my Goodness!!! It's like everyone is on the excitement again whether what will be or how would KMY react to YSJ's heartfelt confession of what he really feels.

Everything is brilliant about this drama. Like you can't t wait for tomorrow if the wednesday's episode is done. Or you can't wait for the next wednesday if thursday's episode is done.

Was anyone else wishing they could make KMY give YSJ a back hug in this scene?  I was screaming at my laptop "hug the poor man!" 

Also can we talk about SHK's acting in this episode??! She stole the show 100%. No one cries as well as SHK does.

So I'm wondering, did GooWon watch last night's episode together? Can I hope that Song Song was there too?

KBS is gonna have one hell of a headache at the end of this year, choosing between SJK and SHK for Daesang award. Last year they gave out two Daesang. Will they give out two too this year? Whatever it is, I am happy that both of them are given recognition for their superb performance. Love both of them & all the other casts, and the PD, writers, production team... Everyone, thank you for giving us DOTS

Just watched ep 7 with sub, and oh gosh... The confession scene is just heartbreaking. Uri Captain! 

I really do hope our doctor will at least say a bit that she misses him also during their time apart. After seeing the preview once again, i can see that they will talk abit after MY is done with her wound stitching (eventho it also show that MY will be walking alone crying with our SJ following) but i do hope she'll respond something positive to our poor captain. 

 

Anw, i think the bts picture where SJ is looking extra fine making V sign while sitting on the back of a truck with MY will be shown soon as he and MY are wearing the same clothes as the one that they wear in the ep 8 preview (where the truck's broken)! 

 

Really cant wait for tonight's episode!!! DOTS' just awwwesome!

Love, love as in love today's episode. A slight dip in the rating doesn't mean the whole entire run of the show will be like that. I love how at least 60% of the episode is slightly focused on KMY and her profession. As usual, the romantic cliff hanger at the end keeps us viewers at a gasp and secretly want to break the TV hoping it's the next day so we can continue watching and know what is about to happen next. 

I am still hoping they would break that 30% viewer rating because the show is so damn good and want it to be more successful. It's only mid season and there is still a lot to be unfolded. Like SHK says, their love story is slowly progressing now and a lot of obstacles are about to happen in the drama. 

BTW, I tried live streaming it for the 1st time and it was a so-so experience. I am from California and I don't think my connection has to do with it, lagging and buffering a gazillion times that ultimately made me gave up. I was able to capture about 30% of the live stream and the rest are history. Good thing an hour after they aired it, some site has already uploaded it raw. 

Can't wait until tomorrow. Looks like there will be more of YSJ and KMY love lines to entice us yet again!

I was actually thinking the same thing. I was also thinking if all 4 of them, SJK and SHK included, watched it together and had a little get together party to mark its mid season success of DOTS.

Ooooh that's a good one. I hope they get it both for their superb acting and portrayals of their DOTS characters. Plus, I hope both of them are present and are able to attend the award night and win best couple and all other categories especially the Daesang!!
