JTBC’s “Run On” released new stills of Im Siwan and Shin Se Kyung!

“Run On” tells the story of people trying to connect with each other in their own languages after having lived in different worlds and at different paces. Im Siwan stars as Ki Sun Kyum, a former track and field athlete who retires after a life-changing event, while Shin Se Kyung plays Oh Mi Joo, an adventurous foreign film translator.

Spoiler

Previously, Ki Sun Kyum and Oh Mi Joo experienced many ups and downs because their relationship wasn’t clearly sorted out. Oh Mi Joo wanted to be careful about creating misunderstandings, so she wished for a more definite relationship. On the other hand, Ki Sun Kyum expressed his desire to stay with her for as long as possible in a different way, but he wasn’t able to convey his affection in an appropriate manner. Viewers are eager to find out if they’ll be able to get over their scars and open up to each other once and for all.

New stills show Ki Sun Kyum and Oh Mi Joo sitting closely together on a park bench. Their eyes are overflowing with affection, and they gaze at each other with fond smiles. They can’t hide their feelings, and it’s clear they are head over heels for each other. As a result, expectations are doubled for the direction of their romance. Will they finally be able to confirm their feelings this time?

The drama’s production team hinted about more legendary scenes coming in the next episode, saying, “There are many scenes that will evoke cheers from viewers who were anxious about the development of their hard-to-get romance. Please check out the charms of the cute and lovely ‘Kyum-Mi’ couple in the drama.”

The next episode of “Run On” will air on January 14 at 9 p.m. KST.

“Run On” Previews Heart-Fluttering Developments In Main Characters’ Relationships

ebe8d599ad414f17ba03447d680878af.jpeg?s=

JTBC’s “Run On” released new stills of the four main characters ahead of tonight’s episode!

Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung plays Seo Dan Ah, an ambitious sports agency CEO, and Kang Tae Oh is art student Lee Young Hwa.

Spoilers

Spoiler

Previously, Ki Sun Kyum and Oh Mi Joo experienced many ups and downs in their relationship after he stayed out all night without letting her know where he was. Although Ki Sun Kyum wanted to resolve the conflict, Oh Mi Joo didn’t make it easy for him as she continued to shut him out. However, the end of the previous episode saw Oh Mi Joo calling Ki Sun Kyum’s name when she fell ill after he told her that he wanted to be someone who could look out for her whenever she was sick.

New stills show Ki Sun Kyum hard at work at his new part-time job as a driver at the filming site where Oh Mi Joo is working as a translator. Oh Mi Joo appears to be back in good health as she jumps back into the fray at the filming location, radio in hand.

As Ki Sun Kyum sits atop a ledge dutifully taking notes, Oh Mi Joo ponders him with an unreadable gaze. Another still shows Ki Sun Kyum looking on in surprise as Oh Mi Joo extends her hand toward him. Viewers are already looking forward to how their relationship will progress after the preview at the end of the last episode revealed Ki Sun Kyum telling her, “I’ve been doing that thing you asked me to. You asked me to like you.” This comes after Oh Mi Joo drunkenly asked him to like her one night—a night she doesn’t remember.

The drama’s production team shared, “Although they have made up and grown closer to each other, there are still things that Ki Sun Kyum has been unable to tell Oh Mi Joo. Make sure to watch tonight’s episode to find out if the two individuals that now live and even work together will be able to realize their feelings for each other.”

Another set of stills reveals a surprising development between Seo Dan Ah and Lee Young Hwa, who are known for their constant bickering. The images show a completely opposite atmosphere between the pair as they share an umbrella in the midst of a downpour. Seo Dan Ah flashes an uncharacteristically bright smile at Lee Young Hwa as she wraps her arm around his shoulders, and Lee Young Hwa grins at her in return.

Their relationship began when Lee Young Hwa’s painting caught Seo Dan Ah’s eye one day in a café, and their recent meetings have usually consisted of Seo Dan Ah pestering him for a rough draft of the painting she wants him to create for her.

However, the drama’s production team hinted at a change in the pair’s relationship as they commented, “The gradual build-up of Seo Dan Ah’s and Lee Young Hwa’s emotions will begin to escalate beginning with tonight’s episode. Starting with the reason of Seo Dan Ah’s time being smeared on Lee Young Hwa’s painting, please keep watching as their romantic story begins to blossom.”

The next episode of “Run On” airs on January 13 at 9 p.m. KST.

*** Im Siwan celebrated his birthday on the set of “Run On”! His birthday happened to fall on the same day episode 9 of “Run On” was filmed. Shin Se Kyung, with the help of the staff, surprised him for his 33rd birthday with a birthday cake. This is just so sweet. After thanking everyone and blowing out his candles, Im Siwan said, “I thought I was late because I saw all of you grouped together.”  Check out the entirety of the celebration plus behind-the-scenes footage here:  He's so CUTE.

*** ISW may be joining the second season of “House on Wheels”, which is set to premiere in March. The show premiered last year (2020) and featured a concept in which the cast, Sung Dong Il, Kim Hee Won, and Yeo Jin Goo, traveled around Korea in a portable home and brought along special guests. Yesterday, January 25, it was confirmed that Yeo Jin Goo would not be joining the second season due to scheduling conflicts with his drama “Beyond Evil.” If he accepts, this will be his first variety show after quite a long while after “Law of the Jungle” in 2014. I am excited to see him in this show.  I hope he can make it happen again.
