They’re shooting a Korean drama today [ED: actually a movie – it is obvious this is not a PSH fan] and all the crew are Korean.  Koreans really pay a lot of attention to details.  Each scene is shot and re-shot several times.  The weather is so cold.  BUT Yoon Eun Hye is really very pretty in person, and this long-legged oppa is also OK.

Eo Il Seon resumes directing in 3 years … authentic melodrama “Love After Love”

Will be released simultaneously in Korea, China, and Japan in May

Cheongju University film studies professor in the College of Arts Eo Il Seon (48, photo below) has resumed directing in a joint-venture movie “Love After Love”.

The main characters are played by Park Si Hoo and Yoon Eun Hye, and the movie is an authentic melodrama about the love between a man and a woman.  It is expected to be released at the same time in all three countries, Korea, China, and Japan, as early as May.

It began shooting last November in Jeju and later in Beijing for a period of four months.

Park Si Hoo’s protagonist is a cold and indifferent man Kim Seong Jun, a former airline pilot, and Yoon Eun Hye plays the role of his wife.

Eo Il Seon won the Best Director Award at the 52nd International Film Festival Mannheim Heidelberg in 2003 with his movie “Plastic Tree”.

“Plastic Tree” also entered the competition at the Montreal Film Festival and the 5th Deauville Film Festival as well as a number of international film festivals and Eo Il Seon gained name recognition.

After directing the 2009 movie “In Between”, he won overwhelming interest at the press conference.

“Love After Love” depicts the love of the male protagonist for the woman he did not cherish when he had the chance and the woman’s unconditional love for him, very delicately and complexly portrayed.   “This is an authentic melodrama and the acting is compelling,” the director said.

He continued, “The film is currently in post-production, editing, etc.,” and “It will be released simultaneously in Korea, Japan, and China, and viewers in these three countries will see it at the same time.”

청주대학교 예술대학 영화학과 교수인 어일선 감독(48·사진)이 한·중 합작영화 ‘사랑후애’로 3년 만에 메가폰을 잡았다.

배우 박시후·윤은혜를 주인공으로 한 이번 작품은 남녀의 사랑과 이별을 그린 정통 멜로극으로 빠르면 오는 5월 께 한·중·일 3국에서 동시 개봉될 예정이다.

어 감독은 지난해 11월부터 제주도에서 촬영을 시작해 지난달까지 전주와 중국 북경 등을 오가며 4개월여 기간 동안 촬영을 강행해 왔다.

그는 이번 작품에서 연인이 곁을 떠나가고 나서야 비로소 그녀를 진심으로 사랑하게 된 남자의 사랑을 담아낸다.

주인공 박시후는 전직 조종사로 항공사에서 근무하는 차갑고 무심한 남자 김성준 역을, 윤은혜는 그의 아내 은홍 역을 맡았다.

어 감독은 지난 2003년 ‘플라스틱 트리’로 제52회 만하임 하이델베르그 국제영화제에서 최우수영화상을 수상하며 감독으로 입문했다.

당시 몬트리얼 영화제 경쟁부문에 진출했고 제5회 도빌 영화제 경쟁부문 진출 등 다수의 국제 영화제에서 인정받으며 이름을 알렸다.

이어 지난 2009년 배우 황수정의 스크린 복귀작 영화 ‘사이에서’를 연출해 제작 발표회부터 뜨거운 관심을 모으기도 했다.

어일선 감독은 “사랑후애는 한 발 늦은 사랑에 가슴 아파하는 남자주인공과 조건없는 희생으로 사랑을 베푸는 한 여자의 복잡한 감정선을 섬세하게 그린 영화”라며 “배우들의 정통 멜로 연기가 돋보이는 작품이 될 것”이라고 말했다.

어 감독은 “현재 영화 편집 등 후반작업을 진행하고 있다”며 “작업이 마무리되는 대로 한국과 일본, 중국에서 동시 개봉해 3국의 관객들을 동시에 찾아갈 것”이라고 밝혔다.

The joint venture melodrama “Love After Love” starring Park Si Hoo and Yoon Eun Hye has completed all shooting.

The movie “Love After Love” has taken four months to finish shooting in Korea and China and is in post-production in preparation for screening in the second half of this year.

Stock price on Park Si Hoo is at its highest since the controversy following “Cheongdam-dong Alice” (2012), and until recently he has refrained from domestic activities.  However, he has been winning consistently on the Chinese site ‘123fans” and has enjoyed great popularity as an Asian Prince.  He has a huge fan base in Asia, and together with the other Hallyu star Yoon Eun Hye, “Love After Love” is expected to be released simultaneously in Korea, China, and Japan.

“Love After Love” is a traditional melodrama which tells the story of a cold man who only finds out how much his loves his wife after she has died.  Two years have been invested in this work, and together with the beautiful scenery of Korea and China, this movie has attracted expectations.

The Weibo is from an entertainment company in Shenzhen, China which announced that LAL will be shown around Chinese Valentine’s Day, that is, the 7th day of the 7th month on the lunar calendar = August 20 this year.

They also posted a LAL poster and a couple of new photos.

"Love After Love” is about an airline pilot who is grounded because of a hearing problem, as a result of which he throws his life to the dogs.  He ignores his wife and her love and attention, and it isn’t until after her death that he realizes he loves her deeply. 

 PSH said he liked the plot very much: “When I first read the script, I already felt this was a tragic love story.  I have always wanted to play this kind of role.  This is a movie that wrings your heart.  I was very moved by this movie; I hope fans and audience feel the same.”

Yoon Eun Hye also said the movie script moved her.  “When I read the script, I felt very warm.  The love in the script is different from other kinds of love.  I admire my character’s love for a man.  I feel many viewers will feel like me after they have watched this movie.”

“Love After Love” made an appearance at the 11th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair on May 14.

It seems the Shenzhen investor has a booth in the Shenzhen Film and Television Industry Society pavilion and they introduced the movie to the media in a press conference.
