How have you been LATELY?

Q1. Lately, what kind of interesting books have you been reading?

TS: A manga written by Takehiko Inoue entitled “Real”. It is very interesting and also the movie “Bakuman” which will be shown by next year, where my appearance has been confirmed. I already read the original manga story. I think since the beginning of this year, I have been reading much manga.

Sakanaction releases a single "Shin Takarajima", the theme song of the movie "Bakuman"!

Sakanaction announced the release of their new song "新宝島 / Shin Takarajima", which is a theme song of the movie "バクマン。 / Bakuman", on September 30th.

After one year of silence, the band is releasing a powerful up-tempo song "新宝島 / Shin Takarajima", which you can check in the "バクマン。 / Bakuman" movie trailer.

The upcoming single will be released in three different types. It is noteworthy that 2CD+DVD luxury limited edition is a special "バクマン。 / Bakuman" BOX collaborated with the movie "バクマン。 / Bakuman" and it will include over 30 minutes long film score "MOTION MUSIC OF BAKUMAN。" written and produced by Sakanaction.

Sakanaction Releases Covers and Tracklist for Their New Single “Shin Takarajima” + A Radio Rip

On September 30, Sakanaction will release their new single, “Shin Takarajima.” The song will serve as the theme song for the movie “Bakuman”, which was adapted from the popular manga series of the same name. In addition to the movie’s theme song, Sakanaction will also be in charge of the film’s score, a first for the band.

Besides the title track, the single will also include the song “‘Kikitakatta Dance Music, LIQUIDROOM ni’”, a funk tune that was inspired by the band’s NF events which were held at Tokyo’s LIQUIDROOM. The single will also include a remix of “Inner World”, courtesy of AOKI takamasa.

As previously reported, “Shin Takarajima”, will come in 3 editions: a 2CD+DVD Deluxe Limited Edition, a CD+DVD Limited Edition, and a CD only Regular Edition. The Deluxe Limited Edition comes in a box which features a drawing by Obata Takeshi (the illustrator of “Bakuman”) on it. The drawing is of Azuki Miho, the heroine of the series. The drawing is half complete to express the concept of drawing lines that is presented in “Shin Takarajima.”

Tonight, Sakanaction debuted “Shin Takarajima” on TOKYO FM’s radio show “SCHOOL OF LOCK!” A radio rip of the song has surfaced. Check it out after the jump along with the single’s covers and tracklist.

While most news articles refer to Takeru Sato and Kamiki Ryunosuke's "Bakuman" characters as Moritaka Mashiro and Akito Takagi respectively, this write-up mentioned the names Saiko for Takeru's character and Shujin for Kamiki. These are the names being used in the recent "Bakuman" live action promotional ads.

Sato Takeru & Kamiki Ryunosuke to be co-leads in real-life adaptation movie of "Bakuman"

Sato Takeru and Kamiki Ryunosuke will be co-leads in the real-life adaptation movie of popular manga "Bakuman" which is due to be shown next year.

The manga which consists of 20 volumes and has accumulated sales of 15 million copies to date, is by Oba Tsugumi and Obata Takeshi who are widely known for their hit work "Death Note".

The story features two senior high school students, Saiko (Sato) and Shujin (Kamiki) who aspire to be manga artists and work together as a team where Saiko is in charge of the drawings and Shujin comes up with the story.

Both Sato and Kamiki will be doing the drawings featured in the movie themselves thus this will also mark their debut as manga artists.
