Guest flipocrisy

Hmm, wonder how far it'll cover into the manga. Did they mention that anywhere? I mean I suppose they can get to the end, but they'll be skipping a lot if that's the case

@flipocrisy, the Bakuman manga series has 20 volumes, it would be hard to incorporate every thing into the movie, so I guess, as you said, they will be skipping a lot. I haven't read a news article that stated in detail what parts of the manga series they will be covering for the movie.

Sakanaction to perform the theme song for the live action “Bakuman” film
July 1, 2015

tumblr_nqslsu6yQe1u0s9l5o1_540.jpg

In a press release earlier today it was confirmed that electronic-rock band Sakanaction have been tapped to provide the theme song for the live action adaptation of popular Shounen Jump manga Bakuman.  This powerful and upbeat number will be titled “Shin Takarajima” (“New Treasure Island”; named after the manga of the same title by Tezuka Osamu) and was written over a period of 6 long months during which frontman Yamaguchi Ichiro intensely studied the manga format, ultimately achieving what he deemed a high degree of lyrical perfection as a result.

Bakuman was created by the duo of Ohba Tsugumi and Obata Takeshi, the same pair who worked on the manga Death Note together, and tells the story of two fledgling mangaka who are attempting to work together to create a manga popular enough to have an anime series made of it.  The main characters Moritaka Mashiro (the artist) and Takagi Akito (the writer) will be played by Sato Takeru and Kamiki Ryunosuke respectively.

The movie isn’t set to hit theaters until October 3rd of this year, but a trailer containing a snippet of “Shin Takarajima” can be found right after the jump, so don’t hesitate to read on.

The earlier released Bakuman trailer is already quite promising, but wait till to see the full trailer below!

bakuman.jpg

One of the most exciting and fulfilling J-animes I've seen over the years, Bakuman has a lot to offer - just the story of two struggling manga artists is enough to keep you glued on the screen, plus the fact they have to face a formidable opponent, years ahead in the manga publication game!

Of course, the live action cast features two of Japan's best known young actors - Ryunosuke Kamiki and Shota Sometani and one of the youngest Box office wonders - Takeru Sato - who now commands the attention and adulation of fans around the world due to the recent Kenshin saga. Bakuman promises to be these talents' latest conquest and what exciting acting match ups await all of us!
