Two of Japan's most exciting young actors - Shohei Miura and Masataka Kubota led the promo blitz for Crude Play, a boyband playing an important part on the new movie, The Liar and His Lover (Kanojo wa Uso o Aishisugiteru).

Masataka Kubota is certainly deserving of more high-profile roles, as he already proven himself such an awesome actor in Takashi Miike's 13 Assassins. Miura on the other hand, lord it over the drama scene and still remain one of the industry's under-rated actors, but quite popular with fans. Both have star quality and this new movie will give them another opportunity to shine!

Kouki Mizuta and Kodai Asaka made up the other pair for the band.

In the new movie Sato plays the boyfriend of a 16-year-old high school student who posessess a gifted voice. Kanojo wa Uso o Aishisugiteru tells the love story between the two and much more.

“Kanojo wa Uso o Aishisugiteru” Live Action Film's Full Trailer Released

The official website for the live action adaptation of Kotomi Aoki's shoujo manga “Kanojo wa Uso o Aishisugiteru” (Love, I Lied About Loving You) had released the film's full trailer. The film will be led by Takeru Sato (Rurouni Kenshin, Kamen Rider Den-O) and newcomer Sakurako Ohara.

Aki Ogasawara is the reclusive, idealistic composer of the popular band Crude Play. Discontented with his life and with no drive to succeed, he meets Riko, the 16-year-old grocer's daughter in a band consisting of her childhood friends, and asks her to be his girlfriend on a whim. However, what Aki does not know is that Riko is actually a huge fan of Aki's music. Even with his girlfriend, Aki cannot escape the world of music.

Directed by Norihiro Koizumi (Flowers), with screenplay by Tomoko Yoshida (Bokura ga Ita), “Kanojo wa Uso o Aishisugiteru” will open in December 14th.

"Kanojo wa Uso o Aishisugiteru" Live action film gets prequel drama series

Fuji TV announced that the live action film adaptation of Kotomi Aoki's shoujo manga “Kanojo wa Uso o Aishisugiteru” (Love, I Lied About Loving You) will have a ten-episode prologue drama series which will start airing on December 9th.

To be entitled Kanojo wa Uso o Ai Shisugiteru Side Story ~Boku to Kanojo ga Deau Mae no Monogatari~ (A Story of Before She and I Met), the drama series will run for 10 minutes per episode, and will air on Fuji TV for two weeks on weekdays on its late-night block from December 9th. The full 15-minute version of the episodes will run on Fuji TV Two on December 16th.

The film will be led by Takeru Sato (Rurouni Kenshin, Kamen Rider Den-O) and newcomer Sakurako Ohara. Additional cast includes Ryo Yoshizawa (Kamen Rider Fourze), Yuki Morinaga, Saki Aibu (Death Game Park, Zettai Kareshi), Takashi Sorimachi (1998 GTO live action), and Mitsuki Tanimura (Yae no Sakura). The members of Crude Play will be played by Shohei Miura (Saki, Gokusen 3 SP), Masataka Kubota (Shiritsu Bakaleya Koukou), Kouki Mizuta, and Kodai Asaka (Hana Kimi 2011).

Completion screening event of movie "Kanojo wa uso wo aishi sugiteru"

The completion screening event of new movie "Kanojo wa uso wo aishi sugiteru" was held on 20 November where cast members including Sato Takeru, Ohara Sakurako and Miura Shohei also held two live performances for the 1,600-strong audience as two bands featured in the story.

The movie which is due to be shown in cinemas from 14 December features Ohara as the vocalist of 3-member band MUSH & Co. after she was picked from an audition involving 5,000 people and the band will release their insert song "Ashita mo" on 4 December.

On the other hand, Miura will lead 4-member band CRUDE PLAY to release the single "Sayonara no Junbi wa, mou dekiteita" on 27 November and the band also performed the song during the event. At the end of the screening, Sato joined CRUDE PLAY as its bassist and performed the theme song "Sotsugyo".
