Synopsis
Room Alone 401-410 by GMM TV tells stories of "lonely people in the era of social media", specifically those living in Room No. 401 to Room No. 410 in Happy Condominium. They seem to be mostly university students but at least one of them is a high school student. Each episode focuses on a person from a particular room and their tangled interactions with others. A stubborn artist girl who falls in love with her gorgeous male cheerleader friend, an upcountry boy forced by his jealous girlfriend to declare himself gay to avoid girls' attention, a young photographer who claims to have an online "girlfriend" whom he never met, and so on.

Room 401 "Jaegun"

Synopsis
Jaegun ("Bifern" Anchasa Mongkhonsamai) from Room No. 401 is a talented artist and the prop coordinator of the Cheerleading Club at her college. Jaegun is confident in everything, except love. She doesn't dare to confess her love to Terk, a male cheerleader who, despite his foul mouth, seems to keep following Jaegun around. Jaegun finds out Terk is falling for a tomboyish junior student Min. Instead of telling Terk she is in love with him, Jaegun chooses to compete with Terk in wooing Min to prove that the Min doesn't like guys and to prevent Terk from developing a romance with another girl.

Meanwhile, we also see glimpses of lives of other residents of the condominium. The mysterious Min (Room 407) seems to use a lot of Hello Kitty stuff despite her tomboy appearance. Freshman student Tul (Room 402) is busy moving in as well as talking to his girlfriend on the phone, speaking a heavy Northern accent (which is hard for me to understand). The rather weird "Baitoey" (Room 408) declares that her door is "pink" even though it is obviously white. High school boy Camp (Room 406) is totally rude toward Jaegun as well as his own mother. In addition, the beautiful cheerleader Snow keeps pressing Jaegun to look for a vacant room for her in the condo.






Episode 2
Room 402 "Tul"

Synopsis
Tul ("Toptap" Jirakit Kuariyakul) is a freshman student who seems to spend most of his time between going to gym, attending hazing activities, and chatting in the Northern dialect with his girlfriend, Neptune, who goes to school in Chiang Mai. Good looking and muscular, he becomes popular with his female seniors and peers alike, causing Neptune to become VERY upset and jealous. She forces him to declare on Facebook that he is gay, but this only ends up with Tul attracting attention from a lot of guys, one of whom is Cable, his senior at the university.

Meanwhile, Terk comes to the condo to ask Jaegun (Room 401) why she had been absent from the Cheerleading Club. Puen (Room 410) is cruelly ignoring Air, a girl who is trying hard to ask him out. View (Room 403) is a photographer who is getting a lot of Instagram hearts from a girl called "nat_me_now". Tul's half-naked picture was posted on Thailandcutegay Instagram page and found by Earng (Room 409), leading to an awkward encounter in an elevator.

Episode 3
Room 403 "View"

Synopsis
View ("Mek" Jirakit Thawornwong) from Room No. 403 is a young photographer who puts his black and white photos on Instagram, always with a witty caption of three words, which draws a number of followers, one of whom goes by the name "nat_me_now". View eventually asks "Nat" out, only to be stood up by her again and again, with various excuses. Frustrated, View begins to question the existence of "Nat" the Instagram girl, especially after he found a Facebook user "Neen" who posts the exactly the same set of pictures as "Nat" but tells a different story of herself. The situation gets even weirder as View attempts to find out which of the two is the girl in the pictures. 

Meanwhile, Jaegun (Room 401) and Terk get emotional as Terk begins his campaign against Jaegun's cat-and-dog cartoon page. Camp (Room 406) is having some trouble with his parents who like to compare him to his more successful older brother. Baitoey (Room 408) is told by a fortune-teller that if she changes the "B" in her name to "J" she would have a better luck pursuing her love. Puen (Room 410), again seen with a bleeding nose, teases View for his relationship with "Nat" and suggests that she may not look like the person in the pictures.

Room 404 "Men"

Synopsis
Men ("Kikey" Pariyawit Suwittayawat) is a singer/composer/guitar player who runs "So Sick of Love Songs" channel on YouTube. As the name suggests, Men is particularly annoyed by love songs which he believes are overused. He soon finds a polar opposite of himself, Zeen, a girl who apparently only sings love songs. The two popular musicians begin their online rivalry, only to find themselves hired to co-perform in the same event.

Meanwhile, "Baitoey/Jaitoey" (Room 408) is convinced by a horoscope SMS that she must confess her love by today. View (Room 403) can't stop thinking about Nat, while his friend Puen (Room 410) continues to give him advices about love. The disgruntled Camp (Room 406) discovers something about his older brother.

I stumbled on this interesting series the other day and thought I'd love to share it.

Room Alone isn't advertised much and it has not created a buzz in Thailand at all, but after watching the first two episodes (Episode 3 will air this Saturday) I think this is quite a great series. It definitely should get more recognition, as currently it is virtually unknown when compared to other Thai teen dramas like Hormones, Love Sick and Grean House.



So far, storytelling, acting and production are of high quality. The casts, in my opinion, are really good looking. A large number of them are talented singers in real life. But hardcore fans of Thai teen series may be able to recognize a few faces who have appeared in Hormones and Love Sick.

The best of all is that GMM TV, the company that produces it, is releasing the show for free on YouTube. It is also providing English subtitles, but only after the episode was released on YouTube for several days. As of now, Episode 1 has English subtitles and we are waiting for subs for Episode 2. Let's hope GMM TV will do subs for all episodes.

Let's talk about this series. What do you think? How do you compare it to other shows? Do you like the cast?

I just watched EP.1. Wow, I feel horrible for Min. People just kept aggressively involving her in things throughout the whole episode. It really bothers me that Jaegun and Terk basically talk about Min like she's not a person. Jaegun especially treats Min as just a piece in the competition to get what she wants. I really don't like Jaegun. I don't see any way I could grow to like her character. She and I do not get along. )

I like Min's character, though, if only because of the stuff she's put up with.

I previously saw the "403" guy, Mek Jirakit Thawornwong (เมฆ จิรกิตติ์ ถาวรวงศ์), in a short film with P'June ("Sprite's mom" in Hormones). The movie, Part-Time Lover, is also by Bang Channel.

I wonder how similar the character will be. The two characters, Pete in Part-Time Lover and View in Room Alone, seem to be a bit similar on the surface: rough around the edges but polite, deliberately withdrawn and asocial, in their own cut-off world...

I quite like the format of the show, by the way: ten rooms, ten characters, ten stories in the modern world of condos, the internet, and so on. They could even re-use this format for new characters year after year, if they wanted and if they had enough stories to tell.

@VarutK I was impressed with Mek in Part-Time Lover, too. To be honest, I watched Part-Time Lover for P'June. I'm a mild fan, since she's a friend of a friend. But I came out impressed (more) by Mek.

Here's some speculation for future episodes. I found it slightly too convenient that both View (Room 403) and Min (Room 407) are involved in photography, as seen in the title sequences and some promotional materials. Even weirder is the fact that they are together in one of the posters, just like Jaegun and Terk are. Could it be possible that there will be a romance between them, or perhaps one of them falling for the other? That could be really interesting!! Min is already my favorite character and I think View will probably be too.

But there are still mysteries which need to be solved first. Who gave the Hello Kitty stuff to Min? What did Min and Terk talk about? And (according to the synopsis and trailer) who is the girl View considers his girlfriend even though he never met her?

Thanks for this thread. Now I have more thai series to watch beside Grean House the series and Thirteen Terrors (still wait for Eng Sub from GTH whewww......)I try to watch 2 episodes of this movie with Eng sub and start to like this movie a lot. I really like Jaegun character in episode 1 since she really fights hard for what she love though it is a bit rude for the others and not in appropriate way but sometime love make someone can't think clearly. After seeing episode 2, I found that Terk also like Jaegun and I think he called Min at that night to explain the situation that he approached her to find out what Jaegun's true feeling about him. Overall this series is quite interesting and I found that the viewer of this series in youtube are more than 100K for episode 1. This amount of viewer much bigger than Grean House which already has 6 episode. However both of them are really entertaining in different way and I feel that I has found a replacement for Hormones right now hahahah....one more thing sometime I see the mix of Sprite and Kwan in Jaegun face in certain angle or is it just me because I really miss my Sprite

Poor Neptune but she deserves to get it because the one who has that ridiculous idea is her through her over possessiveness. This episode 2 also teach for girls that sometime the competitor for their boyfriend is no longer girls anymore but also from boys who sometime more understand and care since they are the same gender and it does happen in recent thai series such as Hormones and Lovesick the series. In addition beware for the girl to make sure that your boyfriend is really straight hahahaha.....LOL

Room 401
Jaekan (Baifern Aunchala), the girl in room 401. She is quiet confident in everything except confesses with Terk (Victor Chutchavit), her close friend in a club. Conversely, It turns out that he likes bold junior girl named Min (Man Pakjira.) Jaekun obstructs him every ways even competes with him to court Min. She makes him lose his opportunity to be with her and assures him to see her as a tomboy.

Tul (Toptap Jirakrit), the owner of room 402, moved in to continue his bachelor degree college. View (Meak Jirakrit), a boy who owned room 403. He is the owner of instagram that known by black-white photos with 3 lines epigram. In additional, his instagram has overwhelmingly followers. One of the follower is Nat (Napasasi.) They know one another through social, and then he becomes her boyfriend without see her in real life. Until, View found another girl that has profile picture similar to Nat on Facebook. At this time, View starts to retrieve the real owner of these pictures.

Room 404

Maen (Kikki Pariyawit), a musician at room 404. He owned youtube channel named 'So Sick of Love Song' that he composed. In additional, he has popularity by makes different kind of music that isn't talking about love. Oneday, he composes a song about youtube society and implicates to Scene (Nest AF9), the owner of 'Zean So Sad' channel. This channel popularized by sadden songs, and their argument is started. However, when they get to know one another, Scene chances Maen's point of view to love songs. But, in which way?






Room 405
Snow (Mook Worranit) lives at Room 405 alone.
Pae, her boyfriend, is currently studying aboard. To kill time, she enjoys chatting with friends on Application. She chatted up 3 guys on phone, the famous Tawan, the mild Worm and humurous Ray (played by Newwiee - New Thitipoom). She likes all of them but she won't date, so how will she handle this in the end?






Room 406
Camp (Natthawat Chainarongsophon). 
High schooler. Forced by parents to attend tuition every weekend.
Stays at Room 406 with P'Tayn (Tao AF8), a medical student. The two are never alike at all which causes clashes of indifferences.
Camp wants to win Tayn in evrything, and even his girl Cake (Wayluree Ditsayabut)







Room 407
Min (played by Nan Pakjira) lives at Room 407. A charming tom. Cut a dash with her looks. Graduated from a all girl school. Facing with dilemma in new love situation. This eventually drive her to the corner of love, how will she make a choice? Will it be love? Or will it be friendship?





Room 408
Jaitoei (Wawa Maripha) lives at Room 408. Addicted to psychics. Received a message one day that says "love is around you". Starts out to make a move on her crush since college, Kin (Puwadon Vajwongsa). As their love blossoms, Kin suspects if this is love or just merely because of the message.




Room 409 
Eang (Gun Achirawit) lives at 409 alone.
Lonesome guy who enjoys singing. Due to his good looks and voice, he's quite renowned on line. One day he came across Gang (Amp the star). Gang made a cameo in one of Eang's video which caused an uproar of pursuers. However no ones knows it's going from reel to real for the two of them.






Room 410
Puen (Off Jumpon Adulkithuporn) lives at Room 410. A self centered guy. Doesn't know romance even with Air (Patcha Poonpiriya), his girlfriend. He forgets the important dates, has language issues, doesn't pick up calls nor message and doesn't send/fetch his girl. A total boyfriend fail. But Air persists using all sorts of ways for her boyfriend to notice her.
