Are you a nervous flyer?

You should totally visit Europe though! It's a small continent but the cultural diversity and uniqueness is so different between the countries, you wouldn't believe it.

Eastern Europe is in my travel list.

Seen lots of nice and wonderful pictures from friends and relatives who have visited.

I don’t mind long haul flight, is the jet lag that bother me. But have get used to it.

https://www.dramamine.com/blog/6-ways-to-prevent-motion-sickness-while-flying

1.Choose your seat strategically. Because you're flying through aircurrents, the flight will have a normal bumpiness to it. ...

2.Take Dramamine. ...

3.Try to relax. ...

4.Stay away from greasy or spicy foods. ...

5.Avoid digital screens and reading materials. ...

6.Ask for ginger ale from the beverage cart.

https://blog.travelexinsurance.com/travel-health/how-to-prevent-motion-sickness-on-an-airplane/

  • Eat a light meal the night before
  • Stay hydrated, and fight dehydration by avoiding salty foods
  • Fight digestive issues by avoiding fatty, spicy or greasy foods
  • Don’t fly on an empty stomach
  • Pack some crackers in your carry on to nibble on
  • If you’re feeling anxious about getting sick, take time before and during your flight to reduce stress through meditation and breathing techniques
Choosing the right seat on a plane can make a difference, and that doesn’t mean first class either. The more stable spots are above or over the wings around row 10-30, where you may feel less turbulence. Choosing a window seat can help, as watching the horizon sends equalizing signals to the brain.
  • Keep your body a comfortable temperature by dressing in layers. Increase airflow around your seat, and especially pointing directly on your face
  • Fix your gaze on the horizon to help your body deal with the conflicting motion your body is feeling
  • Ask for ginger ale and sip slowly – or bring ginger tablets. A 250 mg capsule, three times throughout the day you fly may help alleviate symptoms
  • Avoid alcohol. It only dehydrates you and makes symptoms worse
  • Avoid reading and digital devices – they add to the conflicting signals your body is already dealing with
  • Stay positive and try to focus on other things, like listening to music or having a conversation with your travel buddy
  • Find a position that helps, such as putting your head down or leaning back in the seat

I'm not really a nervous flyer, but I am picky about the airlines I fly with. :D

I always pick the ones that are ranked highest on the "safest airlines in the world" list. :D

I can totally relate as I am prone to the same ailment from time to time.

Have you tried scopolamine patches? You put those behind one of your ears.

Also, if you're flying from your country to let's say London, Paris or Frankfurt, the turbulence is normally not that bad. Trust me, it's usually a lot more turbulent on the short flights in SEA or on the flights to Australia. :D

Within Europe, traveling by train is super fun! :kiss_wink:

Of these I prefer Qantas, Air New Zealand, Emirates, EVA Air, Cathay Pacific, BA, Finnair.

Qatar, Etihad, Singapore Airlines, Delta, UA, SAS and KLM are ok too.

I avoid AA and Lufthansa though. :sweatingbullets:

@elan1 I usually choose safety over price.... :phew:
