11 Memorable Makeovers In K-Dramas

Jan 27, 2021

In times of uncertainty, it is nice to chill and watch a light-hearted K-drama with some memorable makeover scenes. Makeovers aren’t always necessary when it comes to some of the males and females in K-dramaland, but when it does happen, it’s usually fun-filled and entertaining to watch. These characters have shown that a tiny bit of make-up and wardrobe change can make people feel confident in their own skin. There have been a fair share of them, but here are just 11 that are pretty unforgettable.

Note: These dramas only focus on subtle makeovers, thus nothing pertaining to weight or plastic surgery.

3. “Pinocchio

Makeovers are obviously not just done by female characters in dramaworld. There are more than a handful of male characters who have also done their part in making sure they freshen up for some confidence. The first male on this list is none other than Ki Ha Myung, played by Lee Jong Suk in the hit romance “Pinocchio.” In the first few episodes, Ha Myung is introduced as a younger man who is staying with In Ha (Park Shin Hye) and her grandfather, as he lost his family at a young age.

After a few episodes, Ha Myung gets a total makeover after some encouragement from his grandfather. Even the grandfather states that Ha Myung could use a little bit of a makeover and literally has to drag him to the store. It’s a touching moment as the grandfather just wants Ha Myung to feel good about himself. Needless to say, the transformation is jaw-dropping and impressive.

Synopsis Pinocchio Korean drama Lee Jong-suk and Park Shin Hye

Pinocchio is a popular Korean drama starring Lee Jong-suk  and Park Shin-hye . The following is a synopsis of the Korean drama Pinocchio.

Pinocchio is produced by iHQ and broadcast through the SBS TV channel. Pinocchio was directed by Jo Soo-won and the storyline was written by Park Hye Ryun.

The first episode of Pinocchio aired in 2014 and the last episode or the 20th episode was broadcast in 2015. Even though it is more than five years old, this drama is still worth watching because of its interesting storyline.

The South Korean version of Pinocchio is different from the Pinocchio, from a wooden doll with a long nose when lying. Instead of a long nose, Pinocchio in Korean dramas hiccups while lying.

The Korean drama Pinocchio focuses on a genius boy, Ki Ha-myeong. The problem arises when his father, who works as a firefighter, is accused of saving himself and neglecting fire victims. The tragedy killed a number of firefighters and only the body of Ki Ha-myeong's father was not found.

The allegations made Ha-Myeong's family suffer psychological distress due to public outcry and the cornering media spotlight. This condition makes Ha-myeong's mother invite Ha-myeong to commit suicide together by drowning herself in the ocean.

Luckily Ha-myeong was saved by a grandfather (Byun Hee-bong). The grandfather gave Ha-myeong a new name, Choi Dal-po. Choi Dal-po is played by Lee Jong-suk.

The grandfather also has a grandson the same age as Cho Dal-po, namely Choi In-ha (Park Shin-hye). During several years of living together, Choi Dal-po found surprising facts regarding In-ha's family background related to the breakdown of his family. In-ha's mother is a journalist who reports issues regarding Dal-po's father.

In-ha can't lie because she has Pinocchio syndrome. Every time he lied he had hiccups. He couldn't help but admit that his mother was a reporter on duty at the time. Dal-po then decided to leave the house and parted ways with In-ha and his grandfather.

Dal-po is determined to become a journalist to restore his father's good name. On the other hand, In-ha also has the same ambition. In-ha wants to be like her mother. However, In Ha often failed the interview because he was always hiccuping.

Until one day, fate brought them back together. Can the two of them make peace and have love?

Follow the love story of Choi Dal-po and Choi In-ha in the Korean drama Pinocchio. Pinocchio can be watched on the Viu streaming service.

An inevitable love story that won the 2015 Excellent Work Award

A pure love story that is inevitable to cry, drawn by two super popular people, Cheina (Park Shin Hye) of "Pinocchio Syndrome" and Chedalpo (Lee Jong Suk) of the same age, who get hiccups when they lie. Kihamyung decided to live as Darpo in the wake of a certain incident. Ina and Darpo, who dreamed of becoming announcers, get jobs at different TV stations. I'm fascinated by Darpo and Ina, but I'm distressed to find out that Ina's mother is an enemy of her family ...

Impressions of the editorial department who watched Pinocchio

There aren't many dramas that make me cry so much

The highlight of this drama is that the mother of the other person in love is an enemy, and the whereabouts of the love between Lee Jong Suk, who plays a complicated position, and Park Shin Hye, who shows a stable performance. In addition, among the suspense elements that follow the truth of past incidents, the serious acting of Yun-gyun-san, who plays Jae-myung, is also good, and you will be absorbed in the drama world with a story that feels real, which also depicts the social problem of the way of reporting. In the second half, the empathy was so great that the final episode was a drama that cried so much. This is a must-see for anyone who wants to watch a crying drama.
