2PM’s Junho Confirmed To Play Lawyer In New tvN Drama
 

2PM’s Junho has been confirmed as the lead in an upcoming tvN drama!

The drama, “Confession,” is about characters pursuing truths that are buried by the law prohibiting double jeopardy (which states that a person cannot face prosecution twice for the same offense).

Junho plays the lawyer Choi Do Hyun, a character who has led a hard life, having spent much of his childhood in a hospital due to a chronic heart condition. Undergoing a heart transplant, Choi Do Hyun is given a second chance at life, but when his father is prosecuted and sentenced to death for murder, Choi Do Hyun faces hardship once again. Determined to prove his father innocent, he decides to become a lawyer.

A source from the drama said, “As Lee Junho has a wide range of acting ability, he will be able to show even more, and with depth, through ‘Confession.'”

“Confession” is slated to air in March 2019.

Lee Junho to Star in "Confession - Drama"


 

The new tvN drama "Confession - Drama", a successor of tvN's genre series, has cast actor Lee Junho.

"Confession" is about a sickly man with a strong mind who has spent most of his childhood in a hospital. He is involved in a case of "double jeopardy", the principle that one cannot be tried for the same crime twice following either a conviction or an acquittal. It is directed by Kim Cheol-gyoo who won the 54^th Baeksang Culture and Arts Awards for TV Production, the 13^th Seoul Drama Awards for Best Mini Series, and the 1^stCannes International Series Festival for Official Competition.

Lee Junho takes on the role of lawyer Choi Do-hyeon. Choi Do-hyeon is a character who spent most of his childhood in a hospital due to an incurable heart disease. He gets a new life with the opportunity for a miraculous heart transplant, but his father is charged with murder right after surgery and faces another life trial. Choi Do-hyeon becomes a lawyer to reinvestigate his father's death row case. He is a man of a serious character with a rock-hardness behind his fragile appearance.

Lee Junho has been building his filmography with movies "Cold Eyes", "Twenty", dramas "Just Between Lovers", "Wok of Love" and others. He's been acknowledged as a trustworthy actor through "Chief Kim" and anticipation for his next move is high. In addition, as director Kim Cheol-gyoo and actor Lee Junho are well known for their high-quality work, expectations are high for the synergy created by the two.

2PM’s Junho Is A Stony-Faced Lawyer For Upcoming Drama “Confession”
 

tvN’s “Confession” has shown its first glimpse of 2PM’s Junho as a lawyer.

“Confession” is a legal investigative drama about those who pursue the truths hidden within the confines of the principles of prohibition against double jeopardy, the law that states that once a sentence has been given on a case, it cannot be charged again. The drama is directed by Kim Chul Kyu, who previously directed “Mother.”

Junho plays Choi Do Hyun, a man who became a lawyer to save his father, a criminal on death row. In the released photos, he exudes professionalism as a lawyer, with his clean suit, briefcase full of documents, and lawyer’s badge shining brightly on his chest.





 

A source from the drama stated, “From his very first filming, Junho showed acting with depth through his perfect understanding of the character. We knew that he was an actor with a wide spectrum, but we were able to see for ourselves that he works extremely hard. As the drama’s two protagonists, Choi Do Hyun and Ki Choon Ho will share a tense, complicated relationship—at times, they will face off as opponents, while at others, they will work together as allies.

On March 5, “Confession” revealed its first glimpse of its two stars together in an intense scene from the upcoming drama. The newly released stills show the two men staring each other down in a fierce standoff, with Ki Choon Ho blocking Choi Do Hyun’s path on his way out of a courthouse. Ki Choon Ho has an angry look in his eyes, while Choi Do Hyun glares back at him with an icy expression.



 

According to the drama’s production staff, Junho and Yoo Jae Myung displayed exceptional teamwork while filming the scene together. The two actors were reportedly full of energy on set, actively exchanging ideas about how to make the scene even better and meticulously planning out every detail beforehand. The production staff went on to tease that viewers can safely look forward to the chemistry between the two co-stars.

On March 8, the drama released two new teasers featuring its two leads carefully analyzing each other’s personalities. In Junho’s teaser, Choi Do Hyun examines a file on Detective Ki Choon Ho and reads aloud, “His nickname is ‘Alligator.’ He’s relentless, thorough, determined. An assiduous detective.”

He then puts the file down and wonders to himself, “Is he searching for the truth, or is he just obsessed?”

Yoo Jae Myung’s teaser similarly features Ki Choon Ho reading up on Choi Do Hyun. The detective reads, “Attorney Choi Do Hyun. A high school graduate who passed the bar exam with the second-highest marks in his year. His father is a convict on death row.”

He goes on to ask himself, “Is that why he became a lawyer? To defend a murderer?”

Watch: “Confession” Cast Introduces Their Unique Characters In Making Video

 

2PM’s Junho, Yoo Jae Myung, Shin Hyun Bin, and Nam Gi Ae gave a glimpse of their characters in a making video for tvN’s upcoming drama “Confession.”

“Confession” is a new crime investigation drama about people attempting to uncover veiled truths that are hidden behind the law of double jeopardy.

In the video, the cast poses for the drama posters. The mood is serious and professional as the actors portray their unique characters.

Talking about his character, Junho says, “Hello, I’m 2PM’s Lee Junho, and I play Choi Do Hyun in ‘Confession.’ He is a man who becomes a lawyer in the hopes of saving his convicted father from the death penalty. I will come to you as a lawyer who seeks the truth, so I hope you look forward to it a lot. [Choi Do Hyun and Ki Choon Ho] are really a lawyer and detective who come to face the truth. They will be in a dilemma about whether the truth or the verdict is important.”

When the production crew asks if there’s anything he would like to confess today, he wears a sheepish smile on his face before admitting, “Nowadays, I’m eating one meal per day. In order to become more like Choi Do Hyun, I’m trying to become skinnier. But last night, I had chicken. I lied to the staff today that I only ate one meal.”

The production crew jokingly demands an apology, and Junho bursts into laughter as he says, “What?”

Yoo Jae Myung says, “Hello, I’m Yoo Jae Myung, and I play the role of Ki Choon Ho in the new weekend drama ‘Confession.’ It’s nice to meet you. Ki Choon Ho is a passionate and upright former detective who will go to the ends of the earth to solve a case.”

The actor also makes a confession and says, “I wanted to look great in the poster, so this morning, I exercised, worked off a sweat, and struggled to get rid of my bloating.”

Next, Shin Hyun Bin introduces herself, saying, “Hello, I’m Shin Hyun Bin, and I play the role of Ha Yoo Ri. It’s nice to meet you.” She adds, “She’s a former reporter who is struggling to create a one-person media. She is Do Hyun’s family-like friend who has been with him for ten years. In the drama, you’ll be able to see me use a brighter, bolder tone.”

The actress also talks about today’s photo shoot. She explains, “Since I’m a former reporter, I wore clothes that are like those of a reporter. I wore a suit during the photo shoot. The title of our drama is ‘Confession’, so I should’ve expressed my inner thoughts, but…” Instead of finishing her explanation, she ends with an embarrassed laugh. Then she confesses she feels like she won’t be wearing anything formal like her current suit in the drama.

Nam Gi Ae plays Madame Jin, a skillful office assistant who appears at Do Hyun’s office out of the blue. She says, “She’s a woman who appeared in order to help Do Hyun.” She then breaks into laughter as she admits she acts graceful on set but acts like an old lady at home.

Jung Ryeo Won showed support for 2PM’s Junho and the success of his current drama “Confession.”

On April 4, 2PM’s Junho shared on his Instagram account a photo with the caption, “Sae Woo sent coffee to this ex-chef. @yoanaloves I enjoyed it, noona.” Sae Woo was the Jung Ryeo Won’s character’s name in “Wok of Love,” the drama they co-starred in.

Jung Ryeo Won replied to his post saying, “Cheer up!”

The photo shows 2PM’s Junho smiling in front of the coffee truck, wearing a black suit, and posing with his arms stretched out. The two banners read, “I confess with confidence! On April 8, Namgoong Min shared photos of himself on the set of his latest drama “Doctor Prisoner.” He smiles with a beverage in his hand as he poses in front of a coffee truck sent by Junho!

The banner on the truck includes photos of both Junho playing lawyer Choi Do Hyun in his current drama “Confession” and Namgoong Min playing doctor Na Yi Je in “Doctor Prisoner.”

2PM’s Junho Thanks Namgoong Min For Sending Gift To Drama Set

 

On April 29, 2PM’s Junho took to his Instagram to thank actor Namgoong Min for sending a coffee truck to the set of “Confession.”

Currently, Junho is starring in tvN’s drama “Confession,” while Namgoong Min is starring in KBS’s “Doctor Prisoner” as Na Yi Jae.

The caption on Junho’s Instagram post reads, “Na Yi Jae you’re the best. Let’s do our best until the end!”

Namgoong Min replied to this post to say, “There’s not much left. Hang in there.”

The first image shows Junho posing next to a banner that says, “Lawyer Choi Do Hyun! Come to Na Yi Jae if you are feeling sick!” The banner in the second image reads, “Dear Junho, I’m really enjoying watching ‘Confession’!” The third image shows Junho holding a drink he got from the coffee truck.

Update: 2PM’s Junho To Enlist This Month + JYP Releases Official Statement

JYP Entertainment has released an official statement regarding Junho’s mandatory service.

On May 28, the agency confirmed his enlistment date of May 30 and shared the following statement:

Hello. This is JYP Entertainment.

This is an announcement regarding 2PM’s Junho. During 2PM promotions, he suffered a major injury to his right shoulder due to a severe accident while practicing acrobatics. He received surgery and was diagnosed with a spinal fracture. He consistently underwent rehabilitation treatment and exercised, but the development was not positive, so he took prescribed painkillers when inevitably having to carry out work that is strenuous on his shoulder. For these reasons, he received Grade 4 in the Military Manpower Administration’s physical examination. Lee Junho will diligently fulfill his military duty as a public service worker from now on.
