tiger457_stv
finally watch this highly understated, back-water drama which is different from most any Korean drama. Quality of the cinematography and material is excellent. Unfortunately very few people got to see it due to it being a cable program. what a shame. jayakris
Absolutely agree, @tiger457_stv, it was a gem of a drama. At a whole higher level than anything you see in Kdramas. Unforgettable characters!

Unforgettable characters! this show is funny, yet serious...dark yet uplifting...it's characters have serious flaws yet many rise above these flaws and try to improve themselves. These female criminals are tough yet soft, kind yet cruel, dirty yet some what pure at heart....How many Korean show where the lead woman try to cut someone face so that she would remember for the rest of her life??! Yet despite all of that, one cannot help but feel their pain and suffering....interestingly they tend to not dwell on the fact that their parents were either very poor or dysfunctional and poor...yet they don't tend to blame their ancestors for their sad lots in life. The music for this film is excellent and bring out clearly the tension and grittiness in the story. Then the club scene with all of the ajussi and ahjuma come to dance tango and waltz with 1950s songs... bring a mixture of the old time within the modern time. But the modern audience tends to be young females and probably would be tuned off by all the grittiness and old fashion of this story....plus cable, hence a completely undeserving 1.5% Nielsen rating!!!! Actually, for a cable show, it was quite highly rated, though. So people did like the drama. You are right that it was such an uplifting drama! I still miss it. Time to watch it once more one of these days. Actually I am still supposed to go back and work on polishing up the last several episodes' subs at darksmurfsub.com ... Wish I had moire time!
