Nam Ji Hyun and Yeon Jun Suk reportedly cast in new SBS drama

Young actors Nam Ji Hyun and Yeon Jun Suk (both twenty years old) will be acting in a new SBS one-act drama entitled 'Mysterious Freshman'!

According to a recent exclusive report citing multiple broadcasting reps, the two have been cast in a 2-part series as the leads.  The drama, which will try to answer the question of what is happiness, will center primarily on Nam Ji Hyun's character, Oh Ah Young, who is a studious, filial girl who feels pressure to satisfy the expectations of her household and becomes a fake freshman.

Yeon Jun Suk will play Jung Woo Hyun who is a freshman in the Department of Law at Myeongseong University.  Although he's known to have the perfect household, grades, skills, and looks, he has a secret that he can tell no other.

The two of them have grown from talented child actors to talented adult actors making their way to the top, so it should be exciting to see how they perform in a new production together!  The script reading was told to have taken place recently, and they will soon go into filming.  It is not yet sure when the drama will air.  Are you excited to see their chemistry?

Posters and stills dropped for Nam Ji Hyun and Yeon Jun Suk's upcoming drama!

That perfect height difference, though.

SBS has recently dropped the poster as well as character still cuts for their upcoming special, 'Mysterious Freshman,' led by actress Nam Ji Hyun and actor Yeon Jun Suk, both young but rising stars.  

The drama centers on Ah Young (Nam Ji Hyun) who doesn't tell her parents she failed to get into a college, so she goes to Myeongseong University in the stead of her cousin, Oh Jung Eun (Lee Jin Yi).  This is how she meets Min Sung (Yeon Jun Suk) and fears she might get caught after she's asked, "Are you really Oh Jung Eun?"  

SBS revealed that this was going to be produced through UHD and puts a realistic spin on her lying process and more, promising that viewers would be able to empathize with the leads as they ponder the road to take toward hope and happiness.

Other actors include Kim Hee Jung, Seo Hyun Chul, Yoon Seo, Shin Jae Ah, Park So Eun, and Gong Myung.  It will air in two parts, both on January 29.

EXO’s Kai Joined by Park Eun Bin and Yeon Joon Seok in Debut Web Drama

While news of EXO member Kai having his web drama debut was revealed earlier this month, the casting for his co-stars has been confirmed.

Actress Park Eun Bin and actor Yoon Joon Seok will be portraying the other lead roles in “Choco Bank.” The drama will feature the stars as characters who are trying to get jobs. Along with their job-seeking efforts, information about finance and banking will be incorporated into the web drama. Some topics include crowd-funding and financial technology.

Park Eun Bin will act as Choco, a character who runs a chocolate store. Yoon Joon Seok will portray her hometown friend who has a caring and lively personality. Meanwhile, Kai will be college graduate Kim Eun Haeng.

“Choco Bank” is scheduled to be released starting mid-February.

Yeon Joon-seok, "Nam Ji-hyeon is kind"

Actor Yeon Joon-seok said Nam Ji-hyeon is "Bright and a kind friend".

Yeon Joon-seok starred in the SBS UHD Special "Mystery Freshman". This drama is about finding hope and happiness amongst fake university students.

Yeon Joon-seok takes on the role of Lee Min-seong, a perfect student with the perfect family, education and looks. However, he has a secret that no one knows about. He makes friends with Oh Ah-yeong, a mysterious sophomore.

Yeon Joon-seok said about Min-seong, "He is a character who experiences knew things even love. I try hard to be positive in the drama and director Kim Yoo-jin-III helps me a lot".

Yeon Joon-seok starred in dramas "Shining Inheritance", "Answer Me 1994", "Make a Wish" and more. This time he is starring this special drama with a friend named Nam Ji-hyeon and they are the same age.

Nam Ji-hyeon chose the bicycle riding scene as the most memorable one.

Yeon Joon-seok said, "Ji-hyeon is attractive and the bicycle scene was our so-called first date so it was a fun one".

"I remember the saying 'living someone else's life won't make you happy' and it kept popping in my head every now and then during the making of the drama. I wish everyone can read it and think about it again and again".

Meanwhile, "Mystery Freshman" is a collaboration by Kim Yoo-jin-III and writer Hwang Ye-jin starring Nam Ji-hyeon, Yeon Joon-seok, Kim Hee-seong, Seo Hyeon-cheol, Lee Jin-yo, Yoon Seo, Sin Jae-ja, Park So-eun, Gong Myeong and others.

It is a well-made drama taken all over Seoul, Incheon, Ulsan and others.

EXO′s Kai, Park Eun Bin and More Gather for ′Choco Bank′

The stars of upcoming web drama Choco Bank attended a production presentation held at the Konkuk University Lotte Cinema in Seoul′s Gwangjin-gu on February 4.

EXO′s Kai, Park Eun Bin, Yeon Jun Seok and Lee Chae Won were among the actors in attendance. 

Choco Bank is centered on characters who were preparing for employment but decide to start their own business and the events that follow. It covers a range of financial topics that are useful in everyday life. 

The web drama is scheduled to air online and via mobile in mid-February.

“Pure Love” VIP Screening 

The V.I.P screening of the film “Pure Love” took place at the Seoul Megabox theatre at COEX yesterday, and the cast of the film, along with many other celebrities, came out to show their support.

“Pure Love” tells the story of friendship between five friends and first love, moving back and forth from the past to the present, and it stars EXO‘s D.O, Kim So Hyun, Joo Da Young, Yeon Jun Seok, Lee David, Park Yong Woo, Kim Ji Ho, Park Hae Joon, and Lee Beom Soo.  It premieres on February 24.
