Kang Ha-neul and Nam Ji-hyeon to star in "Angel Eyes"

photo393109.jpg

It looks like Kang Ha-neul and Nam Ji-hyeon are likely to star in "Angel Eyes".

They have been revising the kid roles in the new SBS weekend drama.

Kang Ha-neul's agency Sam Company claims the offer is for the role of Dong-joo's childhood and Nam Ji-hyeon is also to play the childhood role of Soo-wan.

"Angel Eyes" is the sequel to "She Gets Married Thrice" and will be aired in March. The drama is about two childhood lovers reuniting for the first time in 12 years.

Kim Ha-neul is considering the role of the female star who can't see and she has starred in the movie"Blind" before.

New SBS weekend drama Angel Eyes is finally casting its leading man, and Lee Jun-ki (Two Weeks) is reportedly considering the role. Along with his casting announcement was word that Han Ga-in (The Moon That Embraces the Sun) was also being wooed to play the heroine, but her camp issued fast denials, which makes her the third leading actress to squash rumors of potential casting in this drama (after Han Ye-seul and Kim Haneul). Not that I’m too broken up about that.

Previously I had written up that there were rumors of Han Ye Seul appearing in the upcoming SBS drama Angel Eyes. Now those rumors are really just rumors. It’s now being said that Lee Jun Kiand Han Ji Min will be taking the lead roles of this sad romance, and Kang Ha Neul and Nam Ji Hyun as the childhood versions of the leads.

Kang Ha Neul (Heirs) and Nam Ji Hyun (Queen Seon Deok) are pretty much cast as Park Dong Joo and Yoon Soo Wan respectively, though both are said to be officially “positively considering” the role. As the characters grow older, a painful event forces them to part ways and reunite 12 years later as (hopefully) Lee Jun Ki and Han Ji Min.

Han Ga In‘s name has been tossed around quite a bit as the possible leading lady, though her agency has denied any reports of her being sent any offer to begin with. It seems like these rumors are the most unfounded of all, since so many reports are of her denying any association with the project. On the other hand, Han Ji Min seems to have received the proposal and is considering the role. Some details on Soo Wan imply that she was disabled when younger (most likely blindness, hence the title) and when she gets a transplant becomes an EMT.

This painful melodrama is slated to follow The Woman Who Married Three Times (another painful melodrama) in March, which also had a lot of uncertainty surrounding the cast. What is up with these SBS weekend dramas getting casting issues leading up to production? Ah – Han Ga In. I don’t mean to blame her for anything, but it’s certainly amusing how she was supposed to be in The Woman Who Married Three Times, and then turned it down, leading to lots of rumored actresses being cast before the drama settled on Lee Ji Ah. Something similar is happening here with Angel Eyes, though this time Han Ga In isn’t exactly turning anything down. And if Lee Jun Ki flakes, it won’t be his first time backing out of another show after seemingly set to appear on it. (*cough*2 Days 1 Night*cough*) We’ll just have to wait and see if the casting rumors get resolved soon.

"We are going over the proposal positively and are currently deciding on specific factors", said an official from Lee's agency, J Wide.

YG Entertainment, which represents Koo, said has been offered the drama's lead female role and is currently considering whether or not to take it.
