‘Respond, 1994’ stars give out hugs, autographs to fans

Jan 08,2014Article.aspx?aid=29831420Stars of the cable channel drama “Respond, 1994” met with fans to thank them for their support of the show in two different locations.

Even though the drama ended last month, actor Son Ho-joon and Go A-ra met with fans at two different spots in the country.

Son went down to Suncheon in South Jeolla to give out free hugs and Go went to Myeong-dong, central Seoul, to sign autographs.

While it was announced that Son would only hug 300 fans because of safety reasons, more than 5,000 fans still showed up to the event, according to his agency.

Meanwhile, Go relied on her crutches to help her along after her ankle was injured while filming the drama. Go gave out autographs instead of hugs because of her condition.

Son Ho Jun confessed that he cried on the last day of filming for Reply 1994.
During an interview with Newsen, Son Ho Jun said, “Everyone cried after shooting the last scene. I tried to hold it in, but I couldn’t.”The last drama scene was the one where they cheered for Korea versus Italy’s soccer game during the 2002 World Cup. Even though Sung Dong Il had more scenes to shoot after, this was the last scene for most of the cast members. “We sat in the living room with four cameras filming us,” recalled Son Ho Jun. “The scene was about 20 pages of script, but we whipped through the scene without NGs. What I remember the most is not the scene itself, but what happened afterwards. We all started crying after we finished filming.”[interview] Son Ho Jun Talks About the Last Day of Filming for ‘Reply 1994’
“Kim Sung Kyun patted my back and said, ‘Good job, Haitai’ and I almost cried so I stepped outside to calm down. When I went back in, Go Ara, Do Hee and Baro were all crying. I was able to hold in my tears then too.”
But Son Ho Jun couldn’t help himself any longer when PD Shin Won Ho came up to him. “Then the PD came up to me and said, ‘You did great,’ as he patted my cheek. Then I couldn’t help but to break into tears. When I was crying, Yoo Yeon Seok said, ‘Why are you crying?’ which made me embarrassed. But I felt better to find out that Jung Woo and Sung Kyun were crying too.”[interview] Son Ho Jun Talks About the Last Day of Filming for ‘Reply 1994’
But apparently, what made Yoo Yeon Seok able to stay so calm was his impromptu photo sessions with the cast and staff members.
Son Ho Jun smiled as he said, “Yoo Yeon Seok was too busy to be crying. He was going around to make sure to get a photo with everyone.”Meanwhile, Son Ho Jun will be performing for musical Joseph Amazing until February 9 at the musical center in Daehangno.
