*** KHN took home the Actor Award yesterday (September 10) at the 47th KBS Broadcasting Awards ceremony, hosted by the Korea Broadcasting Association. At the ceremony, Kang Ha Neul received his award and thanked everyone for their support.

"I thanked all the supportive seniors who I work with through 'When the Camellia Blooms' and I am happy for this award. One of the reasons for winning this award is the help of my co-star Gong Hyo Jin and I wanted to thank her for that."

The recent ceremony was Kang Ha Neul's first public appearance since he took home the Best Actor award from the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards in June this year. I was surprised with his bearded face and long hair. I guess this is his new look for his next character as Woo Cha Mi in the upcoming movie "Pirates 2". Kang Ha Neul indeed is an actor who transforms and immerses his whole body and mind to every character he portrays. "Pirates 2" will be released next year, in 2021.

*** Due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak in South Korea again, this year’s ceremony for Seoul Drama Awards 2020 was “non-face-to-face,” which meant no winners or presenters attended. The ceremony was recorded with the smallest number of people present. It did not air live but the recording was broadcast on MBC on September 15. “When the Camellia Blooms” took home five awards, including acting awards for Gong Hyo Jin and Kang Ha Neul. Congratulations to both of you!

*** Yesterday it was reported that he turned down the sageuk drama "Cut to the Heart" with Son Ye Jin due to conflict with movie filming schedule. But, today, I read an article that Kang Ha Neul will appear as another character in the drama instead of the male lead Ondal. According to a media outlet, Kang Ha Neul will appear as Ondal’s father. He was originally offered to play the role of Ondal, but decided to take on another character as it became impossible to join the project as lead role due to his movie schedules. Onhyeop, played by Kang Ha Neul, is the father of the male lead Ondal. He is one of the main characters in the early parts of the drama, and will instill an image of “the nation’s General.”
