sherasonni Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 What experience were you afraid to take prior to it?Here's mine:I traveled across Russia alone. I traveled alone because my friends were afraid to travel to Russia. I'm not even fluent in Russian. I just memorized the Cyrllic letters and learned some basic words and grammar at a hagwon. Actually, I traveled in more than one country for that trip, but you wouldn't believe me if I listed all those countries. Instead, I'll post the following photo as proof: It turned out to be one of my best experiences ever. It was a good chance to travel across all those countries because I don't have time to travel like that now. Before I traveled to Russia, I heard a lot of negative stories and hate crimes in that country. I read stories about Central Asians being attacked by Russian extremists. There were even stories about the corrupt police. I was scared when I reached the (Kiyevsky) railway station in Moscow because everyone looked as if they were in a bad mood. Fortunately, I didn't experience any problems in Russia. Russians turned out to be very friendly once I started to talk to them. They were very friendly when showing me directions. Most of the younger generation in Moscow are almost fluent in English. Even the police were friendly. Understanding basic Russian helped. Some of the police walked to me when I was waiting at a train station in Irkutsk. The police said, "have a nice day," after I showed him the passport that he asked to see. I read that the Russian government took measures to make their police more friendlier to the tourists. Passengers in the Trans-Siberian Railway became friends because they stayed in the same railcar for days. A group of teenaged girls who sat across the aisle from me talked to me in English first. They figured out that I was a tourist when they saw that I couldn't understand what a few of the adults were saying to me. They said, "hello." As soon as I replied, all the girls in that railcar came to talk to me. They told me that they were an aerobics team and that they competed in Moscow. They were traveling back to their home when I met them. We continued to talk in English and shared E-mails. Their coaches and mothers were totally ok with me talking to them. They were very friendly when they said 'da-svee-da-nee-ye (goodbye)' to me. After I traveled in Irkutsk, I took another train to Ulan Bator, Mongolia. A shared a train room with a Russian businessman. He talked to me first in English. He told me a lot of his personal life and showed me his photos with his phone. He gave me some advice on traveling in Mongolia. I learned a lot and made a lot of friends when I traveled across Europe and Asia. That experience changed my view of the world.I have too many photos of Russia to show in this forum. I'll show just a few:
Guest nana544 Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 ^Look like you have a great time! Not very daring, but I rode all the roller coasters at 6 Flag !!!
sherasonni Posted September 8, 2013 Author Posted September 8, 2013 ^ Have you ever heard of the gyro drop or the drop tower? It's probably called a different name where you live. I had to ride that because my manager challenged our supplier and his daughter to ride it. I don't know what our manager was thinking. None of us wanted to ride that.
radiocat Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Very adventurous lol, i would probably never embark on such a journey alone.
Guest forcesunknown Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 I reject the one above and will take my chance below will tell him equivalent given every man has to stand before him after the first death. What pisses me the fock about him is humans can reside in the world but given they fear burning will repent prior dying just to go to heaven and can't stand that. Also I don't care about what you think or have to say stating concrete facts

Did you have fun riding it though? Scary? Going up slowly and waiting for the fall was the scary part. The fall was fun. And it happened quickly so it didn't feel bad.
Guest Tracey X Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 And here I sit, 2 in the morning, in front of my laptop screen wishing my life would be adventurous.
