Flavoring Quinoa

I'm trying to move onto eating quinoa instead of rice but it's been really hard because I don't know how to flavor it. I'm currently have the regular kind, but I'm interested in the tri-color kind.
I first tried just cooking quinoa in water and adding salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper but it's still really plain.
I then tried garlic and ginger and still really plain.
I recently tried cooking quinoa in chicken broth and it's not bad, but still plain. It's a lot better than the previous two.
How should I flavor it? How do you flavor it?
