Actress Lee Min-jung will appear as a messenger of peace and harmony.

 

Lee Min-jung has been selected as the sole MC of the "2021 Peace Concert - I have heart." to mark the 21st anniversary of the June 15 inter-Korean joint declaration, which will be broadcast live on KBS 1TV for 80 minutes from 5:40 p.m. on the 13th.

 

The "Peace Concert" was designed not only to reflect on the journey and steps toward peace on the Korean Peninsula, but also to convey a message for peace around the world. A number of top musicians and actors in Korea as well as special narrators will appear to showcase mini documentaries and colorful music shows. The concert will be held without audiences due to COVID-19.

 

On this day, Lee Min-jung will be the sole MC to deliver a message of peace and harmony. Based on the good influence of Lee Min-jung, who has consistently participated in various sharing such as donations for children affected by forest fires in Gangwon Province and campaigns for vulnerable women, it is expected to convey the purpose of the Peace Concert more sincerely.

 

In particular, Lee Min-jung has recently been recognized for her qualities as an MC by being the first regular MC since her debut as tvN's "Upgrade Human," showing her conversational and empathic skills.

Thanks so much @Ephoenix for Minjung's latest update. It's great to see that MJ is moving forward in her new venture. She's always very lively and particularly have a good warm vibe in variety and talk shows.

 

Byunghun in the meantime has 2 and a half movies waiting to be released. It's not unexpected that Emergency Declaration will be shown at Cannes (appreciate the news posted at LBH), with at least three major Korean movie actors in the cast, obviously the movie is highly anticipated. Hopefully the new drama truly gets confirmed, filmed and aired as reported before.

 

From MJ's IG post today. She's serving such lovely & fancy dishes for guests (relatives or friends) at home. We can see something indicating BH in the first capture and the hubby himself sitting at the table in the second picture.

You are welcome @rubie it is indeed great that LMJ is booked and busy. She has movies, variety show and this meaningful event to host, but also love how she makes sure she spends enough time with her family and friends to socialise both in real life and on her IG. I must say she is making this long wait for LBH's movie a lot easier and fun. Her witty comments along with LBH's witty captions are always the best part. They make a simple truck posts so much more exciting. Lol  

 

Also, the picture on the table is of LBH from Japanese calender I think. It's here. Since they said they have strict copyright rules, I didn't dare share on forum but seems like kfans already did. Not sure if it's okay to do it but he looks so good in all of them. 

 

Some kfans pointed that feet in the first pic is also LBH. I'm not sure though. But yeah the food looks appetizing, the table setting and flowers look gorgeous too. So neat. It amazes me how she manages to do so much and so perfectly when she is already so busy. Can't help but admire her everytime.♥️

Actress Lee Min-jung showed smooth progress as the sole MC of the "Peace Concert."

 

Lee Min-jung appeared on KBS 1TV's "2021 Peace Concert-Heart, Connect" (General Plan Yoo Woong-sik, Director Ko Kuk-jin, Hereinafter referred to as "Peace Concert") to mark the 21st anniversary of the June 15 Inter-Korean Joint Declaration, which aired on June 13.

 

On this day, Lee Min-jung showed her "Goddess of Peace" side with a pure white dress and elegant styling with an elegant atmosphere. She also successfully led the 80-minute live broadcast with a calm smile and a sincere voice.

 

Lee Min-jung effectively delivered a message of peace and harmony by smoothly connecting the stage in four-themed performances, including "Beginning and Leaping of Peace," "The Pain and Wound of a Divided Nation," "My Hometown" and "Peace Complete with Our Power."

 

Lee Min-jung also made a special performance as a presenter, giving a deep impression. She played a role in connecting viewers' hearts and minds by reciting poet Do Jong-hwan's "Among the Many People Who Met and Broke Up Like Clouds" and creating a high consensus among separated families.

 

Finally, she proved her ability as a solo host by going on the closing stage alongside the entire cast and singing "Hand in Hand" together as the face of the program.

Her voice sounds so comforting and very powerful. Didn't understand all, but her voice and the pain and longing in each words were delivered was so powerful and deeply moving. Some lucky fans spotted MJBH on a date in Santorini 2 years ago and decided to finally post the picture. They look so cool and relaxed and happy I love it. Finally we have their picture together in a same frame from that vacation. I wish I could live this moment once in my life as well. They look so good together.

Also LMJ just updated her IG with a cute handwritten message from baby Joonhoo. 

He wrote, 

 

“I love you mom. I am happy that Min jung is my mom.” 

 

Why is he so adorable? He’s the cutest and the most loving son ever. LMJ captioned it saying, 

 

“Mmmmm? I am happy that Joon Hoo is my son. I am copying the phrase… even with the error in the sentence.” 

 

Few of the comments she replied were so funny. Lol. One said, “Even so Min Jung is my mom…..I’m bummed.”, for which LMJ replied, “He watches a lot of dramas.” Lol 

 

Another one was like “Mmmmm lol the name… yeoksi Joonhoo is a good son.”, for which LMJ was like “American style.” Lol

Thank you so much @Ephoenix for the nice MJBH sharing, it's really good to read comments/responses too. Been wanting to post another banner but could not find any ideas yet but I'm reading the threads whenever possible. So glad that we still have lots of good things to share.

 

Minjung is looking so pretty, calm & confident at the 'Peace Concert,' thank you for the wonderful pics & updates. Ever since appearing on the reality/variety shows and hosting 'Human Upgrade' plus the award events, it's been a great niche for MJ to advance apart from acting.

 

And the Santorini photo, what a pleasant surprise.. never too late to share, of course. Totally agree with your thoughts, they're totally relaxed, happy and enjoying the vacation. The couple and family loves so much to travel whenever they have a break from work and now it's almost two years that they could not go anywhere for leisure.. just like everyone else. It's really a trying time of much distress all over the world that we have to cope and adjust ourselves to. Hopefully everything will be much better soon for all of us.

 

Looks like Omma and Appa have been posting within hours between them on IG today highlighting their precious little boy. Byunghun posted a photo-message to Rubeurs with an extra special indication. The love-star clip on his cap as commented by MJ is exclusively drawn by Junhoo.

Just some wholesome Lee Family Moment today! 

 

 

LBH and LMJ IG update! Both highlighting the message of their precious son on the same day. It just couldn’t get better and cuter. 
 

Earlier LMJ posted with Baby Joon Hoo’s message where he wrote, “I love you mom. I am happy that Min Jung is my mom.”, with her captioning the picture saying, “Mmmm? I am happy that Joon hoo is my son. I’ll copy the phrase… even though there’s an error in sentence.” 
 

Soon after, LBH updated his with the picture of him wearing a pin made with the cute drawing of Joon hoo himself, which according to LMJ is “A Lucky Marker” Awww….

 

Baby Joon hoo had sent that lucky cheer for his mom when she was abt to start filming for her upcoming movie, “Christmas Gift.” He adorably wrote, “To, mom 

Good luck with the filming. Don’t forget your lines. I’ll be looking forward to it. Love, Jun.” ♥️

 

Apparently, Rubeurs had gifted LBH with the lucky pin along with a video message(most likely for his upcoming birthday, not sure tho), and it’s really the sweetest how both of them posted cherishing their little boy on the same day. LBH and LMJ being a famous star in Korea is cool but nothing beats them as parents and how they are raising their precious little young man. It’s truly commendable!

[이데일리 스타in 박미애 기자] Lee Byung-hun will be an award presenter at the closing ceremony of the 74th Cannes Film Festival.

 

According to his agency BH Entertainment on the 30th, Lee Byung-hun will attend the closing ceremony of the film festival held in Cannes, southern France, on the 17th (local time) as a presenter. It is said that the category in which Lee Byung-hun will present have not been announced.

Previously, director Park Chan-wook stood on stage as a presenter at the closing ceremony of the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. Director Park Chan-wook was invited as a judge in the competition section that year to attend the film festival. Lee Byung-hun is the first actor.

 

Lee Byung-hun, who is invited to this year’s non-competition section, leaving for Cannes with director Han Jae-rim, Song Kang-ho, and Im Si-wan for ‘Emergency Declaration’. Song Kang-ho has ben included in this year’s competition judges.

 

Along with ‘Emergency Declaration’, director Hong Sang-soo’s ‘In Front of Your Face’ was invited to the newly established Canpremier category.

I collaged this pic with their throwback picture when LMJ was pregnant with baby Joon Hoo. It was shown during one of the eps of "Upgrade Human" when LMJ prepared a gift for her best friend. Love how LMJ who was pregnant then was on the right, and her friend on the left, but now its Miss Ah-yeon on the right and LMJ on her left. Cute coincidence. These two wonderful women are true friendship goals. I hope the mother and the baby are in good health. Congratulations to the family. Also, now baby Joon Hoo has a little friend to play with too.

Korean presence felt at Cannes 2021

Two years have passed since the 2019 film, “Parasite” won the Palme d’Or, the highest prize awarded at the Cannes Film Festival. Although Korean films were not among the 24 competing feature films at the festival’s 74th edition, the firm presence of the Korean cinematic scene was acknowledged by the appearance of its star directors and actors.

 

Director Bong Joon-ho proudly announced the opening of the festival on July 6, while actor Lee Byung-hun took the stage to close the festival’s 12-day run in the Grand Theatre Lumiere at the Palais des Festivals.

 

Bong, whose attendance festival organizers kept a secret until the very day, appeared as a surprise during the opening ceremony. Bong expressed the endless passion he felt toward great filmmakers and artists at the scene during his three-minute speech.

 

“The festival had a break (due to the pandemic), but cinema has never halted. Cinema continues to advance, ever since the train started running in the Lumiere brothers’ film,” Bong said.

 

Two Korean films -- disaster-action film “Emergency Declaration,” directed by Han Jae-rim, and Hong Sang-soo’s drama film, “In Front of Your Face” -- were invited to the non-competition categories.

Han’s film about a bio-terrorist’s virus attack on a plane was made before COVID-19 hit the globe, but the audience clearly resonated with the piece under current circumstances.

 

A round of applause broke out four times during the screening, and audience members gave a 10-minute standing ovation as the closing credits rolled.

 

“I felt so happy to see the audience clap and enjoy the scenes,” director Han Jae-rim said excitedly after the premiere.

 

Song Kang-ho was the first Korean actor to participate as a jury member at the festival. With five women and four men from seven nations, this year’s jury marked one of the most diverse in the history of Cannes.

 

Lee Byung-hun, who took the stage with short greetings in French to the audience at the closing ceremony, continued his speech in English: “This year’s film festival is very special to me. Director Bong Joon-ho, who opened the film festival, and actor Song Kang-ho, the judge this year, are my colleagues, and Spike Lee, the chairman of the jury, has the same surname as me.” The witty comments made the audience and director Lee smile.

 

For the 24th Cinefondation Selection, a category dedicated to young student filmmakers, Yoon Dae-won’s short film “Cicada” won second prize, forecasting a bright future for Korean films to come.
