Park Seo Joon attracted the attention of the small screen audience with the presence of the next level in the drama "Itaewon Class".

The Fri-Sat drama "Itaewon Class" (JTBC, director Kim Sung Yoon, screenwriter Jo Gwang Jin, producer Showbox and Zium, adapted from Daum's webtoon "Itaewon Class") is receiving tons of enthusiastic responses. The drama has gained positive reviews right from the first episode when it officially starts a "hip" rebellion of a group of stubborn and reckless youngsters in an unfair world. Episode 2 set its own highest record with a nationwide viewership rating of 5.3%, a rating of 5.6% in the metropolitan area (Nielsen, the standard of households using paid platforms) and the highest rating per minute of up to 7%, thereby demonstrating the audience's explosive reactions to this work.

The center of attention is Park Seo Joon - who has returned as the live-action version of Park Sae Roy. He created a new life-time role when perfectly portraying the passionate young Park Sae Roy, who always cherishes his own belief in an unjust world that took everything from him and never easily succumbs to the cruel reality that hinders his life. Therefore, the audience's reaction to his role is also particularly favourable. After the broadcast, the audience showed their enthusiastic support on SNS and the web portal by comments like, "It's indeed Park Seo Joon, beyond my expectations!", "I'm so delighted that Park Seo Joon plays my favorite character", "This is worth waiting, Park Seo Joon has proven it all", "Park Sae Roy's beliefs and ambitions make my heart sobbed", "I want to live like Sae Roy", "Every word, every action of his exudes a fresh charm", etc. Notably, Park Seo Joon has increased his charisma when successfully conveying Park Sae Roy's dramatic flow of emotions after the death of his father through subtle and detailed acting. Park Seo Joon's passionate performance as he got immersed in the character with every breath and gaze has made viewers unable to take off their eyes. Sometimes he makes viewers flutter with the face of a pure, sincere guy when facing his first love Oh Soo Ah (played by Kwon Na Ra), sometimes he shows fiery eyes when righteously encountering president Jang Dae Hee (played by Yoo Jae Myung) and his eldest son Jang Geun Won (played by Ahn Bo Hyun).

In the behind-the-scenes cut series, the public can feel Park Seo Joon's strong existence. The first shot captured the look when attentively watching the filming screen of Ahn Bo Hyun and Park Seo Joon. The duo brought suspense to viewers through the fierce confrontation between Park Sae Roy and Jang Geun Won with the bad fate since their first meeting. The image of the two actors carefully reviewing each scene to avoid ignoring any small error caught the attention of the viewers. In addition, the scene of the passionate rehearsal to get acquainted with reality and perfectly combine the actions and lines were also disclosed. Starting from the scene where Park Seo Joon was angry with Jang Geun Won after he learned the truth about his father's death, then the scene of President Jang coming to the prison to kneel in front of him once again, to the serious struggle of Park Sae Roy, the drama delivered true feeling of passion and great effort of the cast after giving birth to typical scenes that left strong impression on viewers right from the first episodes.

Park Seo Joon shared, "Park Sae Roy is a steadfast character who has a clear conviction and never compromises with injustice. His desire to own his life without being wavered by anyone will make not only me but also those watching the drama feel catharsis." As Park Seo Joon said, Park Sae Roy's belief has evoked sympathy and left a deep echo in viewers, giving them a sensation just with two episodes. Right from the first day of the transfer, seeing the barbaric act of second-generation tycoon Jang Geun Woon tolerated by everyone, Park Sae Roy's counterpunch has thrilled viewers. Although president Jang asked him to kneel down and apologize to Jang Geun Won to avoid the expulsion from the school, Park Sae Roy didn't go against his opinion and decided not to yield. His decision has absolutely satisfied the viewers. Despite being unjustly accused as a murder convict, Park Sae Roy remained unchanged. When facing president Jang again in the presence chamber, he not only didn't shake at the last chance given by the president but also angrily clenched his fists, thereby heightening expectations on a powerful rebellion in the future. Park Sae Roy is indeed the role model for all of us, who always dream of living like that but accept to compromise when encountering the barriers of reality and framework set by society. Therefore, the audience is channeling attention to the next steps of Park Sae Roy in the drama.

On the other hand, episode 3 of "Itaewon Class" marking Park Sae Roy's return after 7 years and his official participation in Itaewon will air at 10:50 pm (KST) February 7 (Friday) on JTBC.

Park Seo-jin as Park Sae-ro-yi in 'Itaewon Class' (JTBC)

'Itaewon Class', the latest Netflix Original in Korean starring Park Seo-joon, Kim Da-mi , Kwon Na-ra, and Yoo Jae-myung is off to a great start. The show based on a popular webtoon in its first week saw Park Sae-ro-yi (Seo-joon) in school. He is not very sociable and stays away from everyone. He eats lunch alone and doesn't seem to have any friends. However, he is satisfied with his own company. Sae-ro-yi has to transfer to a different school because of his father's work and that's when things go wrong.

The one person that Park Sae-ro-yi does care about is his father. He is taught by his father to live by a set of belief that includes not letting his classmate be bullied. While trying to stop this from happening in his new school, Sae-ro-yi gets into trouble because he punches the boy who was bullying. The boy that he punched happens to be the son of a rich man, the same man who his father works for and that leads to Sae-ro-yi having to make one of two choices. Either get down on his knees, apologize to the boy who he punched and stay in school or be expelled. He chooses to live by his beliefs and chooses to get expelled. His father, who accompanies his boss Jang Dae-Hee (Yoo Jae-Myung), supports his son's decision and he also resigns from the company that has for the longest time forced him to give up on ethics and moral code in order to be able to earn a living.

The father and son duo decides to restart their life by starting a restaurant of their own. However, fate has other plans. The boy that Sae-ro-yi punched, Jang Geun-won (Ahn Bo-hyun), drives a limited edition car while in school and he is irresponsible with it. This leads to an accident that kills Sae-ro-yi's father. When Sae-ro-yi learns the truth, he wants to kill Jang Geun-won, but is stopped by Oh Soo-ah, a student supported by Sae-ro-yi's father. Sae-ro-yi is sent to jail for attacking Geun-won and because he again refuses to apologize, is imprisoned for three years.

When he does get released, Sae-ro-yi has a plan in mind. To earn enough to start a restaurant of his own and be able to earn enough money to stand up to Dae-hee. He expects that it would take seven years, and Soo-ah, who hears his plan is flabbergasted. Not only is he stubborn about starting something in seven years, but he is also certain that the restaurant has to be in Itaewon.

Now, we will see how this 29-year-old man, who is an ex-convict, manages to bring down one of the biggest conglomerate companies in Seoul.

'Itaewon Class' episodes can be streamed on Netflix on Friday and Saturday.
