It's a wrap for GC S1:wow1: . And this is probably the first time we see both of them in one frame.

@yaya1241  thanks for sharing this. The drama's name has been changed to "K Project" because they said that the former name looks like a monster flick. Not sure if this is only a code name but either way this drama remains tight-lipped on what to expect. I hope the drama proves to have a great story. Seeing them in the same frame is so much pretty. This is one fresh coupling of current stars. Well, I don't expect coupling here since this is not a romance-drama but, may be a minimal of it might be inserted here and there. Wait & see..... Besides, PSJ has a romantic leading man image although he has been trying to break-out of that image for a while already. Joining them will be Wi Ha Joon as the 2nd male lead so, even more buzz in the cast. But, what happened? That picture doesn't look like PSJ because he looks so skinny or is it just me? I guess they filter the photo. hahaha - In 'YouthMT" he was a little thin, though. He might be tired these days, huh? This picture is from their wrap-up party so, they have finished shooting already. I'm excited for his upcoming drama. But, a little far for next year..... this drama can't come fast enough. LOL - PSJ always delivers. He's not a hit or miss actor. Good, that this will be on Netflix.   :heart3:

“Gyeongseong Creature” has revealed its lineup of supporting cast members!

Set in the dark times of Spring 1945, “Gyeongseong Creature” is a thriller about two young adults who face off against a creature and fight for survival. It will be written by Kang Eun Kyung of the “Dr. Romantic” series and directed by Jung Dong Yoon of “Stove League.”

It was confirmed in January 2022 that Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee will be leading the drama, and filming has officially started. Park Seo Joon is set to play Jang Tae Sang, the most wealthy man in Gyeongseong and the owner of the pawnshop Golden Jade House who has naturally keen insight and knows how to get by in the world. His sociable personality also makes him a well-known figure through Bukchon. Han So Hee will take on the role of Yun Chae Ok, who searches for missing people. Since she was young, she learned how to get by in life with her father as they journeyed through Manchuria and Shanghai. Having survived through terrible situations, Yun Chae Ok is skilled at working with guns, knives, and all sorts of machinery.

On September 28, it was announced that other talented actors have also joined Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee as supporting cast members. First of all, actress Claudia Kim, who is continuing her global stride through the film “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and the Netflix series “Marco Polo,” will take on the role of Maeda, the mistress of the powerful family that has control over the Gyeongseong area. Maeda, who has an unwavering poker face, gets entangled in a case of serial disappearances, creating tension in the story.

Actress Kim Hae Sook, who received much love for her great acting skills in dramas including “Inspector Koo” and the “Hospital Playlist” series, will play Nawol Daek, the butler of Golden Jade House, and showcase her presence as a strong supporter of Jang Tae Sang.

Jo Han Chul, who showcased his ability to take on various characters in the dramas “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” and “Vincenzo,” adds more weight to the storyline by transforming into Yun Joong Won, Yun Chae Ok’s father who is digging deeper into the case involving the missing people to find his wife who disappeared 10 years ago.

Wi Ha Joon, who impressed global viewers through “Squid Game,” will take on the role of Gwon Jun Taek, an independent soldier and Jang Tae Sang’s best friend. Gwon Jun Taek joins Jang Tae Sang on a dangerous journey to save his missing colleague.

“Gyeongseong Creature” is scheduled to premiere in 2023 via Netflix. Stay tuned for more updates!

8 Moments From Episode 4 Of “Young Actors’ Retreat” That Had Us Feeling Giddy

8 Moments From Episode 4 Of “Young Actors’ Retreat” That Had Us Feeling Giddy

What a gift “Young Actors’ Retreat” has been for Korean entertainment fans. Not only do we get an all-star cast, but seeing the natural sides of all the actors has been thoroughly entertaining. In the latest episode, there were more glorious moments of the actors being their true selves while making new friends. Here are eight moments from episode 4 that we couldn’t help but feel giddy over.

  Hide contents

1. Park Seo Joon being unfazed by ghosts

In this past episode, the producers of the show continue to try and scare all of the guests by getting them to go into the ghost-filled bathhouse. The goal of the mission is to walk into the bathhouse and grab as many mission note cards as possible. This helps to ensure that they are safe from receiving any punishments.

The bathhouse is terrifying to say the least. There are people dressed up in ghost and zombie costumes popping out of corners. But when it’s Park Seo Joon’s turn to go into the bathhouse, he doesn’t even bat an eyelash. He simply responds to the monsters running after him by saying hello. While continuing to complete the mission, Park Seo Joon proves that he isn’t scared of ghosts or monsters.

Park Seo Joon calmly taking a mission note from the ghost’s hands and is even polite enough to say thank you.

2. Ryu Kyung Soo getting very scared

ryu-kyung-soo-.png

Ji Chang Wook volunteers Ryu Kyung Soo to go into the bathhouse, and after basically begging to not be sent in, he begrudgingly agrees. His cries and groans while getting scared by the ghosts, and it was overwhelmingly hilarious. As a viewer, you really couldn’t help but feel bad that he was being tormented. He even says at one point, “This is why I said I wasn’t going to do variety shows.” Needless to say, it was hilarious, and Ryu Kyung Soo was able to show a different side of himself that fans appreciated.

3. Ji Chang Wook getting very scared… of a moth

ji-chang-wook-young-actors-retreat-.png

Ji Chang Wook proved a few times in this show that he does not like bugs. When the bathhouse mission ends and all the actors are getting into their vans to go back to the retreat center, a moth gets in Ji Chang Wook’s van. He immediately freaks out and yelps, looking visibly scared. One of the staff members comes to the rescue and shoos the moth out of the van to which Ji Chang Wook finally regains his composure. The embarrassment he feels after the terrifying encounter with the bug was hilarious. Who knew Ji Chang Wook would be so scared of bugs?

4. Everyone saying that Hwang In Yeop is cute

young-actors-retreat-hwang-in-yeop.png

At brunch the following morning, everyone was gathered together, enjoying the food that the losing team had to make. Hwang In Yeop couldn’t get over how embarrassing he must have looked the night before, being so scared in the haunted school. Park Bo Gum reassures Hwang In Yeop and tells him that he was really cute and that it wasn’t embarrassing at all. Just then, Kwon Nara chimes in saying that she really likes him now, and even Ryu Kyung Soo mentions that he became a fan. It was adorable seeing Hwang In Yeop getting praised and even cuter that he made several new fans while on this program!

5. Park Seo Joon and Ji Chang Wook’s interaction

park-seo-joon-ji-chang-wook.png

Seeing these two powerhouse actors sitting beside each other at brunch was absolute bliss. Ji Chang Wook first offers soup to Park Seo Joon when he sits down, and he initiates conversation, asking if he slept well the night before. These two actors are similar in age, and we need to see them in a K-drama together one day because the charisma with the two in one frame is overwhelming!

6. Park Bo Gum and Hwang In Yeop’s chemistry

hwang-in-yeop-park-bo-gum.png

Through the first few episodes, it has already been evident that Park Bo Gum and Hwang In Yeop are getting along great. Seeing this duo together and how adorable they are on the same team is so entertaining and sweet. While driving to their zip line destination, Hwang In Yeop asks Park Bo Gum if he tends to attract good weather or bad weather to which Park Bo Gum responds that he usually brings good weather. Hwang In Yeop says he is the same, causing laughter in the car. It’s safe to say that these two will always bring the sunshine in our lives!

7. Ahn Bo Hyun’s arrival

ahn-bo-hyun.png

When half the cast decides to go on the action-packed tour, they get to the zip line office where they are greeted by Ahn Bo Hyun. As a result of previous scheduling, Ahn Bo Hyun was not able to make it to the start of the retreat, so it was especially exciting to see him show up to the zip line. The actors, especially the “Itaewon Class” crew, were thrilled that he could join them. Not knowing what to expect, it was endearing to watch Ahn Bo Hyun get flustered about immediately zip lining after having just gotten there.

8. Ahn Bo Hyun helping Park Seo Joon

While everyone prepares to go zip lining, Park Seo Joon struggles a bit with getting his gear on. He asks Ahn Bo Hyun for help to which Ahn Bo Hyun is quick to assist. The reunion of this duo is everything fans could have asked for. Despite having been mortal enemies in the series “Itaewon Class,” these two have proven to have remained good friends. Ahn Bo Hyun taking his time to help Park Seo Joon get his zip line gear on was just the icing on top of the cake – the bromance feels!

Soompi & Viki Staff Talk: Which Actor Is Your Favorite To Watch In K-Dramas?

dummy.jpeg?s=900x600&e=t

Following the previous edition of the “Soompi & Viki Staff Talk” series in which our staff members discussed our favorite actresses to watch in K-dramas, we are now back to talk about some actors we love to watch.

Here’s what out team members have to say:

Somni: Park Seo Joon

park-seo-joon-.jpeg

I love myself a good rom-com, so it’s only natural that I fell for Park Seo Joon and his roles in many hits including “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim,” “Fight For My Way,” “She Was Pretty,” and more. Among his dramas, I particularly loved the chemistry he showed with Kim Ji Won in “Fight For My Way” where they portrayed the classic friends-to-lovers trope. When Go Dong Man (Park Seo Joon) and Choi Ae Ra (Kim Ji Won) started dating, their comical yet romantic moments as a couple felt so real that I could relate to the characters even more. In “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim,” Park Seo Joon portrayed the narcissistic young CEO Lee Young Joon perfectly. As a viewer, it was quite refreshing and entertaining to see such a unique character who is full of himself and doesn’t feel ashamed to talk out himself loud about how handsome and perfect he is. Because Park Seo Joon portrayed the character very naturally and endearingly, I could understand the narrative that created Lee Young Joon’s personality. I can’t wait to see his acting transformation in his upcoming drama “Gyeongseong Creature” with Han So Hee!
