9 Slow-Burn K-Dramas To Watch That Will Pace Your Heart

Slow and steady is sometimes the name of the game when it comes to K-drama romances. It’s that perfect pace where the two main leads come together but take their time in becoming a couple. They share their hearts and souls with each other at a slow pace, getting to know one another before taking the plunge into a full out romance. If you’re in the mood for a build up, here are nine K-dramas to check out. Don’t forget to check out part one of the slow burn K-dramas here.

6. “Itaewon Class”

Park Sae Roy (Park Seo Joon) goes through a lot in his young life. His father is tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident, he is expelled from school, and he is sentenced to jail for three years. All this tragedy happens as a result of one family that owns the biggest restaurant chain in Korea. After getting out of jail, Sae Roy swears that he will get revenge and decides to open up his own restaurant called Dan Bam.

Sae Roy’s love story is one that starts off being pretty steady, as he has his heart set on one woman. But this changes when he meets Jo Yi Seo (Kim Da Mi), and she completely turns his world upside down. Although Yi Seo’s feelings for Sae Roy is relentless and unchanging, his feelings for her do not develop until much later on in the series. After being very open and persistent about her feelings for Sae Roy, he finally realizes that she is the one.

@serenilmauve  thanks for sharing this. I love the EP1 of the show. I love the part where Seo-joon, Peakboy, and V stop for lunch. There we’re treated to a bunch of close-ups of each dish they order, from pork belly slices to potato pancakes to heaping bowls of noodles… and great food. Looking at the trio eating,  I was starving.  So COOL that they all have matching outfits, matching sweats and all. .The guys decide to add labels to their sweatshirts with their names and nicknames they make up on the spot: Seo-joon is “clown,” Peakboy is “giant,” (he’s tall!) and V is “world star.” They find these new-found monikers hilarious, and decide to write them in even bigger lettering on everyone’s backs, along with their birth year.  I also love the part where they all curled- up together in bed for a nap. I find the part hilarious when they're in the game room playing Go board. There is a punishment for the loser, of course: the classic forehead flick. Peakboy ends up on the receiving end twice in a row, and the three were on the floor LOL - Looking  at all of them, I actually witness the bonds of friendship being strengthened. Looking forward to the next EP when Woo-shik and Hyung-sik are in the mix too.   :luvarrow:

*** Noh-Varr (a.k.a. Marvel Boy) is considered one of the sexiest comic characters! And there's a common guess and recently reported that Park Seo Joon Is believed to play bisexual character in this upcoming movie. This is probably his character in The Marvels. Noh-Varr is a sex symbol. This character definitely fits Park Seo Joon. I couldn’t be more excited about the possibilities! I hope we could get MORE updates.   :heart4:

Noh-Varr is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics who most commonly uses the codename Marvel Boy. He first appears in Marvel Boy #1 (Aug. 2000) and was created by writer Grant Morrison and artist J.G. Jones. He later appeared in the Civil War: Young Avengers/Runaways and the New Avengers: Illuminati limited series. After his appearance in Secret Invasion, he joined the Dark Avengers as Captain Marvel. He was a member of the main Avengers team as Protector. As Marvel Boy he was a part of the Young Avengers, West Coast Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Noh-Varr himself was ranked in 2013 as #2 on ComicsAlliance’s list of the ’50 Sexiest Male Characters in Comics’. In 2014, they praised the willingness of the Young Avengers creative team to go back to roots of the character and portray him as an actual sex symbol, which they considered a rarity for male superheroes.

Park Seo Joon may be the third Korean actor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, joining Brie Larson, Zawe Ashton, and others in Captain Marvel 2, The Marvels.

After the shocking conclusion of Ms. Marvel, we can anticipate Kamala Khan to reappear in the Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels. Brie Larson will reprise her role as Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, with Iman Vellani, while Teyonah Parris will reprise her role as Monica Rambeau. One exciting addition to this roster is Korean star Park Seo Joon, who will appear in a Hollywood film for the first time as he joins the MCU.

The Marvels finished filming last year, but fans are still unsure which MCU character the Korean actor will play in the sequel. As per a new leak, Park Seo Joon will play Noh-Varr, also known as Marvel Boy.

Marvel Updates tweeted the following leak:
