radiocat
So ladies i was thinking of the common flaws in a guy; gambling, smoking, alcoholic, womanizing, swearing, laziness, drug abuse. Rank them from the bad to worst in how you see it in guys. Would you consider your guy near perfect if he clear from any of these in this time and age? Which are the element(s) you are tolerable towards and which are the ones you detest/condemn most?
Guest brokenmachine
I wouldn't say a guy is 'near perfect' if he is clear from the list mentioned (taken that they are at the more severe end of the spectrum).I know plenty of guys who are none of those, they still go out and drink or party on the weekends, maybe have tried drugs/gambling but more for the thrill rather than an addict. So to me, I think it would be the norm if a guy was clear of those bad habits.
Guest hishari
They are all horrible.
radiocat
@ajlee613 yeah i mostly agree, well what i mean by lazy is to the extent of sloth- not working and depending on others (partner)/not self dependent. Imo this is the worst habit and i really despise these kinda guys.@brokenmachine Hmmm do you think what you perceive is what is real of them?? inxomnia
Swearing is the only one in that list that wouldn't be a deal breaker. The others would have me running a mile away before any relationship even began.
Guest vickyhall
I like the guy who has more sense of responsibility, he is active, sunny and optimistic.I don't like gloomy boys. Maybe there is not any require in my heart, the only need is love.
Guest shooting_stars
Honestly, I'd tolerate drinking (occassionally, not as an alcoholic), smoking, and swearing, but I would not tolerate gambling, womanizing, drug abuse, or laziness. I used to be against smoking, but I've come across so many people who smoke in my lifetime that I've formed a sort of understanding for it. He should at least have enough respect to not smoke around my family or friends. However, if he didn't do any of these in this day and age, I'd think that would be slightly strange...but I'd definitely admire him! I wouldn't consider him near perfect though. (Although I also admit that I'd like to have a couple of drinks with him eventually/be able to swear around him...:>)

Guest nana544
I don't think I am going to tolerate with all of the above. It's either me or those things, though social drinking is okay.
daRings
everything u listed all sounds horrible... but those common once like laziness is tolerable for me, but definitely not a womanizer, alcoholic, smoker, gambler.. those are too much, unless he is regretful, realizes that he needs to change and makes an effort to do so then thats tolerable. Guest UnicornGummi
bad to worst:swearinglazinesssmoking alcoholic gamblingwomanizing drug abusethe only one i would probably tolerate is swearing. the rest is just plain horrible. if he wants a gf then he's going to have to change his lifestyle because no sane woman would want to put up with a drug abusing womanizing gambling alcoholic. Guest TheJVS
We all have the right to our own choices... and I choose not to tolerate ANY of the flaws you've listed. Ladies, we DON'T have to settle for any of these. @unicorngummi as long as the swearing isn't directing towards you i hope

Guest UnicornGummi
@radiocat I think if I found one of those flaws AFTER I was already in a relationship with him I would make him choose between either his bad habit or me. I'm not going to put up with a smoker or a gambler or someone with a drug addiction because those are things that can ruin lives. So it's either that, or me. On the other hand, if I knew he had one of those flaws beforehand, I probably wouldn't go out with him.
radiocat
@UnicornGummi Lets say you make him choose between the bad habit and you, and he convinces you in a way that you both love each other a lot (which you also agree from the present situation) and you should accept him for who he is even that "bad habit"(besides womanizing). He is also your dream guy in your eyes with what you are looking for eg. intelligent, rich, etc. Suppose he is also a morally upright person who makes humane and ethical decisions / down to earth guy in everything he does besides this bad habit. He just only need this bad habit as an outlet to relieve himself and deal with the everyday challenges of this world -would you still accept him? hehe
Guest UnicornGummi
@radiocat LOL you really know how to make scenarios. I don't think I can look over the fact that he has that habit. If he's feeling stressed he should find some other outlet. Regardless, I think if we actually DID love each other, he would be willing to give it up. It's not like I'm forcing him to give it up because I don't like it or anything, it's because it's for the well being of his health and the people around him. Addictions and such do not only affect the person, but also loved ones. Therefore, if he can't give it up then I'm not going to bother continuing the relationship with him because I'm not doing it for my sake, I'm doing it for him. It's not like I WANT to give him up LOL.
Ninshark
besides being only physical things, those bad habits are too exaggerated, how often do they occur? a lot? is it as much as very common problems such as: clingyness, jealousy, stupidity, dishonesty, lack of contribution, immaturity, financial instability, sexism, insecurity, megalomania, irresponsibility, selfishness, arrogance, bad parents, and of course no love? you should worry about the problems that are actually there, your list is too extreme. These personality traits are things every guy could fall for, and not even realize, until the girl hates him so much it's too late. this is what you should be watching out for instead.^those are the common flaws. I could add one to your list that you didn't though: fighting/violence.
