Under the influence of popularity of 'ALL IN' starring LBH & SHK, it seems that drama OST would be a great hit. As of date, 30,000pcs of pre-order tells its possibility. It is recognized an extraordinary case in such a dull domestic record industry recently.

ALL IN soundtrack released on 27th of January. It was supposed to be released in mid of Feb, but they advanced the date by 15 days in response to popularity. Since unknown singers like WHO and YARZ participated in this album produced by composer & producer Kim Hyung Seok, intriguing the public.

The singer 'WHO' singing the title song 'Like the first day', which is Inha's theme, is getting attention of viewers. (The singer WHO is Park Yong Ha, well known for his dramas 'Loving you' & 'Winter Sonata')

Singer 'Who' revealed!

Basically, the article states that the singer for the "All-In" theme song, "Chumum gu nal chlum" (That day, that first day) was revealed to be Talent Park Yongha. (And how popular the song has become...people d/ling it onto their cell phones and everything and how it's #1 on some of the charts.) He will start singing the song on the music programs and the staff confirm that it was Park Yongha that came in to sing it. Nobody knew who the artist was b/c the artist went by the pseudonym "Who". This is not the first time Park Yongha has hidden himself. He sang a song for the OST "Suho chunsa" (Guardian Angel) and he also didn't reveal himself until the very end. 

On the 23rd, he will finally sing "Chumum gu nal chlum" on SBS Inki Kayo.

All In in Singapore's i Weekly 

Intially, All In ratings was lagging close behind the long reigning champion drama Little Mermaid (Een Uh Ah Gah Shee), however as the drama progress, the ratings have increased tremendously and eventually reaching 42.5%. This overtake the top rating records set by 2001 drama The Success Story of a Fine Girl Myung (Lang So Nyu Sung Gong Gi). The local Korean media analyzed that the drama managed to capture the viewers attention with the main focus of the plot being shifted to USA Las Vegas where the two leads meet again in foreign land, the captivating and romantic scenery have secured the viewership. 

There were rumors that the TV station intends to extend the drama by another 6 episodes, however both leads hope that the filming will be complete as scheduled. 

In actual fact, the two leads have been under extreme pressure with the nonstop filming schedule. LBH commented: I feel like I am living like the homeless on the street, eating and sleeping on the location, and the more agonizing is that the locations are all near my house and I am unable to return home, I have not been home for the whole week. 

SHK, who have always been quite weak, was completely worn out by the continuous filming schedule and eventually have to work while she was sick. She said: the filming schedule is too hectic, not leaving any room for resting time, and hence irregular meal times, due to extreme stress, eventually I suffer from gastric pain.

In the drama, LBH role is that of a world champion gambler .. but he reveal prior to this drama, he has no knowledge of any gambling skills. Hence, he made the effort to go to Las Vegas to acquire the skills for him to act his role... now though he have knowledge of nearly all gambling tricks, he still not very interested in gambling. 

On the topic of working with SHK, he said: Initially I was a bit worry, but there were not much issue after we started working together. She is a quite a charming little beauty. We might have a significant age difference, but that is not an barrier, her thinking is more mature than me. Will I choose girlfriend who have similar qualities like SHK? I don't have any particular requirements, I just need someone who I can communicate like a friend, how we feel being together is more important.

The bed scene 

From the start where there is only a brief kissing scene, the director have increase the dosage and from episodes 13 onwards, SHK and LBH were engaged in a passionate kissing scene when they reconcile after their separation in LA. During that esp, the two spend an unforgettable day in the beautiful cottage by the lake. The episode show them in an intimate "bed" scene. The next day, the scene moved to SHK with only a blanket wrapped around her, watching her lover walking by the lake. This scene took the whole crew filming from midnight 1 am till morning 8am.. a while 10 hrs to complete, another record for Korean drama. 

The original script only intent for the two to have a romantic kiss by the fireplace, but after much discussion , they change it to a scene that will have some intimate interaction on the bed. Last minutes changes have to be make to the props and lines. And this being the first such intimate scene for SHK, naturally the young actress feel extremely stressed, not knowing how to handle it . Luckily LBH, an experienced actor, have guided her during rehearsal and making light topics to make SHK relax, such as talking about her feet size, and manage to sooth her anxiety. 

The Insights of All In 

Recent years, the broadcast rights to Korea dramas have been skyrocketing. Accordingly, the Taiwan TV station have bought Hoteiler broadcast rights for US$2500 per episode, for Winter Sonata it increase to US$10,000 per episode. Since then Glass Slipper (Yoo Ri Gu Doo) and Sangdo have sold for between US$5000 to US$7000 per episode. Now, there are news that Taiwan distributors are making the offer of US$46,000 per episode for All In, making it US$1,000,000 for all 24 episode, they hope to get the rights and redistribute to other Asian TV stations. The performance of All In after its telecast, will eventually mark the future development of the ever increasing prices of broadcast rights to Korean dramas in Asia.

All In, recently being broadcasted on ATV (every Monday to Friday, 8:40 pm) , will be telecasting its finale next week. This is the first Korean drama to have a gambling theme, and hence attracted a lot of viewers, with very impressive rating records. And also, because of this drama , the romance between LBH and SHK was able to blossom, and they become the golden couple in the entertainment circle. Recently ATV arranged for us to fly to Korea for special interview directly with the male lead LBH.

LBH is one of Korea top actors, and also among the list which command the highest movie contract price. ATV placed great emphasis and attention on this trip to Korea to interview LBH, and sponsored all the clothes and hairstyling which amounted to six figure costs. 

And this top star of Korea was equally impressive, the interview was conducted in a 5 star hotel with several of his working staff. He maintained very serious attitude towards work, during the course of his interview, he stood up suddenly and remove his jacket and walk away smiling. Initially, we were clueless about what has happened, it was because he wanted to have a change of clothing, to meet the "Hong Kong" audience, since he thought the previous clothes were not suitable. And when he returned, he apologized twice for his sudden action.
@ ed that he wanted to be an honest man in everything he does, and no matter under what circumstances, one must always be upright and responsible person.

LBH commented: I have a strong sense of responsibility. And commanding such high price, a lot of people will have great expectation of me, if I don't perform well, I will not be happy too, hence there is great pressure.

He said: normally I exercise or go for sauna, to make myself sweat, if I encounter any unhappy matters, I will go for a tour. Now he is both successful in his career and romance, does he feel happiness? When he heard this, he reveal a very contented (sweet) smile, which shows he and SHK romance life is truly one of happiness and sweetness . 


He has been labeled as the most perfect man who is both tough but with a gentle side, what type of person does he think he belong to?
He commented he is a person full of dilemma, as to when he will be tough or gentle, he just smile and did not know what to respond....


Recent years, a lot of Korean actors has opportunity to work with Hong Kong actors. For instance in Failan, Zhang Bozi with Choi Min-shik, and in So Close, SSH with Shu Qi and Vicky Zhao, when asked about which HK actor LBH will like to work with 
He replied: "I am not very familiar with HK actress, but I very much like to work with Tony Leung (Chiu Wai), as I think he is a good actor and with very expressive eyes. If the two cooperate, there will definitely be great chemistry and sparks.

He said: "Peter Chan, as I think he very sensitive (emotional) ?? and we get along well . Peter Chan, and Chang Jia shang, have previously approached him on cooperation, but till now, there is still no news. 

He said "Two years ago when he was in Hong Kong, he had spoken with Peter Chan. "As I like his movies, and he also will like to invite me work together on a project, and hence I will hope to have a chance to work together with Peter Chan, but currently now, such opportunity has not arise yet.

i found out that ch. 11 is a new channel. unfotunately, the reception is not good in our tv. i tried to watch it with the bad reception and all but it was hopeless....

Korean Wave to hit Turkey with soap opera: Turkish Ambassador

Turkey's top envoy to Seoul said South Korea's popular soap opera will be broadcast for the first time Turkey to mark President Roh Moo-hyun's visit to the country.

"During President Roh's stay, there will be a signing ceremony to contract between broadcasters of the two countries to air a popular Korean drama, titled 'All In' on Turkish television," Turkish Ambassador to Seoul Selim Kuneralp said in an interview with a Korean newspaper.

The ambassador was sure that the TV program would be received well in Turkey as it deals with universal aspects of daily life such as love, joy and sorrow.

"All In" was a hit TV program in Korea in 2003, which featured two stars of "hallyu," or the Korea wave _ Lee Byung-hun and Song Hye-kyo against the backdrop of Seoul and Jeju Island.

"I think the broadcasting of the Korean TV drama in Turkey is very important because it will offer a great opportunity for Turkish people to understand Korean culture," he said. "The Korean wave will probably be a hit in Europe, too."

He hoped the two countries would exchange more cultural products, saying, "It's a good way for people of each country to know each other better."

Kuneralp attached the importance of Roh's visit to Turkey to the fact that it will be the first visit by a South Korean president since the two countries establishment of diplomatic ties in 1957.

"Roh's visit is very symbolic and important in itself because it is the first visit by a Korean head of state to Turkey," he said.

During his four-day stay, Roh will meet Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss bilateral issues. But given the Korea-Turkey friendly relations, Roh's visit itself is the main event, he added.

Asked what topics will be high on agenda during the summit talks slated on Friday, the ambassador said the two heads of state will focus on economic cooperation.

In particular, Turkey will showcase how it is well prepared to attract Korean investors who are eager to make inroads into the European market, Kuneralp said.

"Among other things, we have a customs union with the European Union," the ambassador continued. "A customs union is a type of economic relationship beyond a free trade agreement."

Under the customs union, Turkey has same external trade policy with other members of the EU while maintaining the same tariffs to a third country. The trade between member countries of the customs union is made without tariffs.

Turkey has had a customs union with the EU since 1995. Any product manufactured in Turkey can be exported to Europe without tariffs and restrictions like quotas, he said.

"So it is quite an advantage for Korean investors to do business in Turkey," he said. "We also have proximity to the European market."

He selected Hyundai Motor as a good example of fully taking advantage of this by running car factories in Turkey to export cars to European countries.

Korean business leaders accompanying Roh will definitely find those incentives to invest in Turkey through a series of meetings with Turkish business people and government officials, he said.

As the Turkish domestic market is large and rapidly expanding, it is also a very attractive market for Korean businessmen, according to the ambassador.

"We have a large local market of 70 million people, which is increasing very fast in terms of potential," he said. "That's why we have been importing so much from Korea for the last two or three years."

Korea exported products worth $2.3 billion to Turkey last year, which is equal to one percent of Korea's total exports to the world, Kuneralp said.

As for tourism, the career diplomat expressed very positive prospects as the number of Koreans who visit Ankara is increasing. Last year, 6,000 Koreans visited Turkey, a 20 percent increase from a year ago.

"Korean tourists to Turkey increase by 20 or 30 percent every year," he said. "I'm glad to see the trend."

Turkey has a long history with many civilizations, one succeeding the other for 2,500 years, he said, while explaining the reason why his country is filled with well-preserved tourist destinations.

"But most importantly, Korean tourists will feel very much at home because of the very close relationship between the two countries,¡± he said. ¡°Since the 1950-53 Korean War, the Turkish public is positively oriented toward Koreans in general."

The ambassador said when a Korean tourist goes to a shop or a restaurant in Turkey, he or she will surely receive a warm welcome with open arms from Turkish people.

To offer a comfortable environment for Koreans to travel to Turkey, Korean Air will launch a direct flight between the two countries, he added.

TV Dramas' Actresses Line up for Award Ceremony Takeover

'Woman power' is set to sweep the award ceremonies, as the big three broadcasting companies are preparing for the acting awards ceremonies for the year 2003. Women actors have their names on the list of candidates for the best actor/actress awards in all three companies. Some speculate that the grand prize for all three broadcasting companies could be taken by women.

In the case of MBC, there's no doubting that an actress will get the highest honor in this year's award ceremony. Lee Yeong-ae, 32, the heroine of "Daejanggeum" and Ha Ji-won, 25, the star of "Damo," are in close competition to be that woman, as both TV dramas enjoyed massive popularity. The competition is likely to be won by whoever is favored by viewers in their 20s and 30s, and by Internet users. Over at KBS, actor Cha Seung-won, from "Bodyguard," and actress Kim Hye-su, from "Jangheebin," are the top two candidates.

Kim Hye-su seems to have edge over Cha; despite a disappointing start at the beginning, Kim Hye-su pushed "Jangheebin" to ratings over 30 percent.

"All In," with ratings nearing 50 percent, has established itself as the best SBS drama of this year, and its star, Lee Byung-hun, is considered a favorite. Kim Hee-ae, however, who showed off her acting skills in "Perfect Love," is getting the overwhelming support of married women. Moreover, she is leading the other actresses in an Internet poll, thanks to the support from the members of the Perfect Love fan club.

The attention of TV viewers are now centered on whether these women actors -- Lee Yeong-ae, Kim Hye-su, and Kim Hee-ae -- will win the best actor/actress award in their companies. If so, some even speculate that actresses in their 30s will be the next hot thing.

IN Ha becomes Michael Jang front man in Korea. He learns business and all the othe stuff related to doing business fr MJ and the gf. THe friend and Jenny help them out. They are building an opposing conglomerate to challenge the group of JI sung's mafia family. So they bid on dev. casinos etc. In order to defeat Jisung's (sorry cant remember his name in the series) family IN Ha's group and Park Sol Mi's family group consolidate so that they have enough money to offer the govt the best plan to develop their casino/resort island plan in a yet to determined island. They start opposing each other like a chess game to see who will get the bids and deals (In Ha and Ji SUng) So it ends up good friends will be bitter enemies. Because while In Ha was suppose to be dead Ji Sung though he knows he is alive did not tell SHK that he is. And he starts courting her. ANd In Ha finds out. So it is about revenge for a wrong done. SHK when she finds out that IN Ha is alive is shocked and angry because he left her at the altar and did not contact her even when he was ok. In Ha starts to avoid her at first but in the long run cannot help himself. SO in the final showdown bet . the two groups. (In Ha first clears his name with the korean police about why he had to leave the country and escape, and he finds out that the money man behind Micheal Jang is the same mafia guy he used to work for in States. The one that he thought he had already got out of. ) For the final gamble and ultimate thing he did for everybody concerned. He was suppose to bet all in that final bid. He did not bet, he pulled his bid off the table in the last minute. Everybody was shocked. So Ji SUng's group won the bid in default . Michael Jang was so mad at him, but cannot do a thing. He cannot do business in Korea as he is considered a pariah. THe American mafia cannot touch him, coz he saved the life of the boss. And he is good friends with the Asian handler of the American so he also has a good backer on that end. And the deal was he would be let out of the group. He did not go after SHK out of his friendship with Ji Sung. In the end, he was left all alone. His friend was going with Jenny to States to try his luck at gambling tournaments. His Uncle was happy coz he set him up with at house and everything in his old age. He was left with his dream house. The one near the orpahnage where SHK hides out from the world. The one that he promised SHG that they will live together in when he becomes rich or something. So the ending scene was he was working in his garden when SHK came and hence the end. Happy ever after I think.
